ABout the smacking/scolding thing, Jess, I thought you did the right thing yesterday. I wasn't shocked AT ALL by Bryce's behaviour. My 2 fight like CAT AND DOG at home but they're relatively well behaved when we are out. They are both less assertive with other children but VERY bossy with each other. But I know how you feel when your kids don't behave. I felt like that with Aidan yesterday even though I knew he wasn't feeling well.
I'm also not very sympathetic. ESPECIALLY not when I've warned them that whatever they are doing will result in EINA! Like this morning they were playing with the door and pushing each other with it (one on either side of the door) and I said they have to be careful about twice and then Aidan pushed Abi hard and she fell on her bum and bit her tongue. I just told him to say sorry to her and left it. C is the softy I think.
Vix, C and I are also like that. Well recently anyway. The first year of having the twins was REALLY hard for us and we barely spoke. We obviously spoke about the babies and all their stuff but we never focussed on each other. It came down to us almost splitting up in December last year for us to wake up and realise that we are just made for each other. I love that we have reconnected and we can also sit for hours chatting.
Julz, I know what Neil means! I can't live without C because I talk to him about EVERYTHING! I mean, the man even takes my wedgies out when my nails are wet! lol
This INCREDIBLY bitchy girl said the other day "it's so strange that you are taller than your husband", because well, I am. And I am SO sick of people looking at us and I can just see what they are thinking. She even had the audacity to ask "so do you wear the pants?" and I said, 'yes actually, I wear pants all the time' and then I got bitchy and said that yes, my husband is shorter than me but he's more man than most of the men I know. She said, I doubt that he's manlier than my husband and I said well does your husband stay up all night with the kids and allow you to sleep when you are really tired? Does he help you with the dishes? With the cooking? Does he deal with the kids when you can't anymore? Does he fix almost anything for you? Being tall and big doesn't make a man, being a good husband and an EXCELLENT father is what makes you a man. She shut up really quickly after that lol.
Anyway, Jess, that dinner sound fan-flippen-tastic! I will DEFINITELY be trying that soon!!
We are having Thai-Beef salad tonight. It's too hot to really cook something but the steaks at Spar were on special and they look soooo good. Thick and juicy! So I'm just going to grill them, mix some thai stuff together for a dressing and dunk it onto lettuce, red pepper and sprouts. YUMMO!!!!
OOOOHHH Julz, I am busy reviewing the new Jamie Oliver. It's called Jamie's 30 minute meals. It's being released next Friday and I would seriously recommend it to anyone that's too busy to cook. THe meals are SOOO yummy and REALLY only takes 30 minutes!
