Leigh, I think also, that looking atractive and finding ourselves sexy was our priority for 25 years or so for most of us.. then suddently babies hit and to be the best mom, you give all of you - thats what it takes just to cope. I am in a simalar boat where somehow DH seem to battle even more than us - they need MEEE time ALL The time -coz they work!

So tell your DH you need to get back to having time for basics, that you havent insisted on it but that you NEED it now,

I promise you that I am in the same boat as you.. Ive devoted so much of my time to my family and over time many of my friends have moved out of town and with my life changing so with kids, i dont have the same social life as i did before kids and I too dont have a best friend in town anymore to get out with!! My dh says get out and go and have fun, but with him being a freelancer who usually works 6 - 7 or 8pm, you land up not going out with friends so you cant keep friendships going!! its tough, but like me, you have to start smaller - start an art class or a yoga class and PRIORITISE the money.. even walking with JULZ will be great.. and then STOP BUYING TRACKSUITS!! you are beautiful, you have lost weight and you deserve to look after you now!!

ok so thinking now xen has post-nasal drip he clears his throat a gazillion times at night and its driving me ape-shit i wake from flies farting nevermind a 4ton baby grunting and huffing so anyhoe i am starting sterimar now and hoping to see some results in 3 days - last night we had 2.5 hr awake grunting time and i almost packaged him up to mail him to one of u but hey didnt have any adresses - any volunteers??????????

Well, I am off now, Dh is in JHB for meeting, will probably be home late so its just me and CJ for a while tonight!

Not sure what I will be making for supper - something quick and easy like mac and cheese!

Leigh I really feel for you as I think all moms go through this type of emotions sometime or antoher...

I totally agree with Julz - that you should definetely have 'me time' and get out, even if it is just going for a walk with a friend.

I don't have a problem with my weight but my body is definetely not the same as it was before pregnancy - so I too have self image problems as I don't feel as confident as I used to, and that also leads to intimacy problems.
Julz, I must agree that although after discovering Astroglide, our sex life as improved, but I still sometimes feel too tired and just fed up with daily routine and raising a child, that DH also complains that it feels like I don't find him attractive anymore!

I think the point that Julz made is really important! We must always remember although we are all part of a family and have kids, it is so important to remember that you are an individual with your own personality, interests, needs and wants, and a healthy relantionship allows each other to seek and fulfill these things.

Sometimes, we as woman think our calling in life is just to be a wife and a mom, but it is definetely not - we also have the right to pursue careers, talents, hobbies, sport - whatever makes you happy!

I personally think every person should have balance in their life, and if you are a fulfilled happy person my opinion is that you will be a better wife and mom!!!!

Leigh and Ally I really hope you feel better soon!

Quite frankly Leigh you need to be selfish. Selfish is good. Why do women think they have to give up being themselves when kids come along. Why can't you have a career and have kids. I also think it is important to set an eg for your girls Leigh. They need to know that there is more to life than being mom and wife. Mommy should have an identity too. x

And you know I mean that in a good way. Hard to say these things on a forum as I always worry that it is taken in the wrong way.

I think before I try and figure out why I don't find DH attractive, I need to get myself back to a loveable state, which I know is back at goal weight.

Even though I don't have a period anymore, I think still being on the injection - every 3 months I go through a dip of emotions. And I just think this week has just been too much at once. The last week of the month, stretching the finances, the kids sick, DH sick, the job rejection, the finding time for cakes, the diet and quite possibly the couple of times I did get out, I just really enjoyed. Plus on Thursday night was the girls night out - we celebrate everyones birthdays by going out, and it was the first one without Aunty Liz. Quite possibly the worst week to get back on the diet in hindsight last week but at least that turned out ok.

I'm ok. I just need to land back on my feet again. And sometimes I don't always have mum to confide in because I don't always feel comfortable telling her my woes. Especially when she takes DH's side as he's SOOO tired from his shifts and poor DH. I just get fed up, my life is hectic too. And I really feel like my family could just have a little give and take sometimes.
