Helen: sorry to hear that you kids are not so well. Does that make you a bad mum not at all. I have had instances of giving both my kids meds thinking it was not so bad only to find out its the damn ear infection. I do hope nina responds to the medication. As for refusing try using a syringe it seems to work these days with my big bunnies. Big hugs I can imagine the night you had.

Can't believe its only Wednesday, I was so exhausted yesterday already it felt like it must be at least Thursday...wishful thinking!

Both my poor babies are poorly poorly, I feel like such a bad mother for not realising sooner that they were so sick, they were both eating and drinking fine over the weekend, just a little bit miserable and sleeping badly but then they both started running a fever on Sunday night. Took them to the GP on Monday, Oliver had a horrific ear infection, it was so bad that on Sunday night his ear started leaking gunge He'd been beside himself on Saturday night but we couldn't get any sense out of him so I didn't know if it was his ear that was sore, if he'd had a bad dream or what, the kid must've been in so much pain and just didn't know how to tell me Then the GP checked Nina's ears and they weren't great either but not so bad, we've only just managed to get rid of her thrush (with some more help from the homepath) so we decided against antibiotics. That turned out to be a bad idea because as the day went on she became more lethargic and unhappy, then we had a rough night with her Monday night and by the morning her ear had also started leaking Needless to say I phoned the doc and got a script for anti biotics which she started yesterday, had a rough night with her last night and today her other ear has started leaking I feel so awful, my poor babies have never been this sick.

Nina is very quickly developing a fear of taking meds poor little mite, she is now having some cough mixture, anti biotics, pro biotics, Singulair (luckily that's easy to administer as I can mix it with her food), Flixonase nose drops, ear drops and then Calpol/Nurofen. As soon as she sees the medicine spoon her mouth clamps shut and her head turns away.

Oliver is very much on the mend, just hoping he gets his appetite back today as he hasn't really wanted to eat anything and then hopefully Nina will start feeling better by the end of today as well when the antibiotics kick in.

My car is in for a service today, hopefully there's nothing major as my bank balance can't handle any more expense this month!

PFairy - I'm so happy you can join DH when he leaves, can't believe how soon the 15th September is!

Yoza - I'm glad your lil President is making progress, sounds like you've definitely found the right place for him.

Hello pfairy you must be happy about the birth certificate hope you manage to get things in place. Im sure you will manage. Siba goes to a play and learn centre which is in the southern suburbs of cape town. Its a mini school away from school. quite excited about it and next week were seeing another centre and a second opinion.

Hello ladies

Nelria: I just want to say thank you for our talk you really helped me put a lot of things in place.

Siba started with his 3 hour sessions yesterday I have feeling about this place. As expensice as they are its a good investment for our lil president.

Two major things he did yesterday. He took a carrot out of the fridge and was eating it and all of a sudden he was making these funny sounds for a while we kept quite he was using the carrot as a car pushing it around and making a sound. its the first for him i have been playing cars and i make all sorts of sounds.

Last night he come to my room and gives me a kiss before he goes to bed how sweet was that.

I must say hubby and I are quite optimistic that in time he will come around even with the so called autism diagnosis.

Ct mummies when are we due for a meet my weekends are going to be busy with school and siba. When you guys are ready please please mummies lets meet up.

When Bryce needs to pee then he'll say to me or DH - "ek wil soos 'n man piepie" LOL then we take him to the loo, he has to stand on his little step so he stand and pee like a man! LOL
