Oh I know where woodlands is. I'll definitely go there. And I don't mind frozen stuff, it's better because I usually freeze anyway unless I'm going to be cooking the meat that night. My dad will still buy his steaks etc. at our butcher but oxtail, chicken etc. I can buy there. I'll be interested to know how much their chicken breasts are coz we eat a lot of that. Thanx for the info! :)

Vix, the one thing I can't skimp on is shampoo. I use Tresemme which is on special R50 for just over a liter I think, or maybe it is a litre. But I can't wash with pantene, it makes my roots too oily and everything else dries my hair out so much that I can't brush the knots out. And 1l Shampoo and 1l conditioner last me just over a month and my hair is VERY long and VERY thick so I think that's quite good. When I was single I used to use Indola which is a german product. It's R270 for a 1.5l bottle but that lasted me about 4 months because it's soo concentrated. I can't find it anymore though.

Morning mommies,

Even I had lots to catch up on because BB wouldn't load last night.

Leigh- I scrimp and save wherever possible, I could easily spend R5000 but we just don't have it, that's nearly half of DH's salary and I don't work as such. I do buy dove soap, if I don't my skin goes to pieces but only for bathing, hand washing is strictly liquid soap I buy from factory store. I have managed to give up my pantene for Organics shampoo, it does the job especially at R32 for 1l when on special and I have used that for C since he was about 5m when my baby shower gifts ran out. Nappies I have always used pampers but I am so irritated with this last batch of active fit, they leak worse than sleep and play, so next I'm onto huggies dry comfort for daytime and Huggies Gold for night time. Luxuaries for me are a lot of things that I used to and my people class as essentials like face creams, make up (I haven't bought new make up since I was in the UK last about 3 year ago and even then it's boots foundation) nail varnish, mouthwash, chocolate, cakes, desserts, cool drinks, convenience foods. If I won't suffer in pain or die without it then I can probabbly cross it off my list. I must say, I do really miss my good shampoo, my hair is very dry but it's just not that important that I need to spend money on pantene. If you guys can afford to spend the R5000 then why change it? I certainly wouldn't if I didn't have to.

Like Julz there are some things I won't use no name brands for like sunlight, OMO, Dove because those per use actually work out the same as cheap makes.

Like Nelria, I will stand and work out per 100g which is the best buy on almost everything, I can usually just do it in my head but if it's getting tricky then out comes the calculator.

I actually don't go to too many different shops for my things, I read the specials in the paper and work out which store will be better value that week/month.

O.k I'm going to stop talking about grocery savings now bevcause even I'm starting to get depressed and I usually don't allow that because depression won't fix my money problems.

Jess- I think my attendance to any birthday parties will be last minuite answers because I have no idea how enormous I will be at 28w, I'm pretty big already for 14w, it's terrible, at 16w wirth C I went to the baby expo and I had to tell people I was already pregnant please can I have samples, now I'm going to get "so how long til you pop" and when I say Dec I'm going to get raised eyebrows! But thankfully it's all in the belly.

Still no Lelani, think I must ring her in a bit.

Nelria- I haven't organised the PT card yet, I explained everything to Elwyn and was all ready to get it sorted and he has since done nothing about it, need to kick his butt actually.

You're so gonna have a 3rd child, I can hear it already! LOL you crack me up! To think you'll do this all over again!

Helen- put some Bicarb soda in Olivers bath water (aswell as using bum creams etc, it's just an extra thing) it takes out the burn and itch of any rash. Also, the maizena trick worked really well when I was stuck at home over Christmas with no meds or creams to help.

Lisha- I think the Milo might just be that little extra bit of nice to persuade him onto the bottle rather than yucky noo nie, maybe just have DH sit with a bottle of Milo for when C gets to taste the Aloe, ag man we're so cruel to these kids hey? My son was licking the spice bottles yesterday, you know how there is always a powdery residue left on the opening, he was enjoying the aromat one, then he picked up the cayene pepper. I tried to take it off him but he went mental so instead of fighting I let him taste it LOL oh man he was walking around with his tongue out for hours!

Mandy- do you want me to bring a whole box of the tea or do you just want to let your friend try a bag before she buys?

Simone- with all the panic yesterday I forgot to say wooo hoo on getting another interview, you obviously impressed them! Fx for that job!!!!!!

Lwasi- was your ex drunk when he called? Don't let him weedle his way back into your life unless he's going to step up and act like a proper man to you and Dad to Amu! I'm sure it'll not be nicew to be away from Amu on his birthday but he'll not know or remember it in the future and if you do your training now you will have a good career and be in a better position in the future so it'll be worth while! I know that everything you're doing is all for the bennefit of Amu! He's so lucky bto have a mommy like you!

O.k seriously have forgotton if there was anyone else,

Elwyn declared on the phone to 2 people last night that (and I quote exact words) "Vickie is HUGE now! Growing by the hour" LOL goods job I'm not a self concious person hey? LOL

My boy is going to be refused his bottle very soon! He's poking the teat into trhe bottle and breaking too many so he'll have to learn by going over to a cup!!! I'm not buying any more teats for him!

O.k I have loads of work to do.

Oh but you guys will probably be proud of me. Last night I tried the budget cooking thing and my creamy bacon, mushroom and spinach pasta came in under R20 a head for 4. I'm still working out exactly how much it was but I'm quite chuffed.

Oh I am SO bad with magazines. I am absolutely addicted. I buy 4 food mags a month (some are UK ones like Olive, Good Food and Woman's Weekly food mag), then I buy the Yourbaby and LIving and loving, Sometimes Baba & kleuter, Ideas and Tuis every month. But wow I've actually gotten a lot better. I used to buy F&HE, Marie Claire, Glamour, Elle, Cosmo, Fairlady, Tuis, Idees, FHM (I know wierd but I love that mag lol) and Men's health for C. So I've gotten a bit better.

We should actually start circulating the baby magazines us Gauteng mommies. ANd I should use Zee as she can get the F&HE free for me lol. ;)

Morning mommies.

Shoo being up at 7 is hard for me! And especially now that it's FREEEZZZING! I feel so bad for all the kids that had to go back to school today, especially the little ones.

Nelria, Where is this Deli? Would love to go get oxtail etc. there.

We are very extravagant with our buying. My dad really likes his luxuries. We ALWAYS have coke, TAB and juice in the house. We always have biscuits for the twins (I'm going to start baking my own though, not crazy about all the sugar in the store bought ones) we have sweets and chips regularly. Popcorn is my weakness so we have that ALWAYS! Then we have things like salticrax, provitas, smoked mussels etc. because C and my brother like to have that for lunch. Over weekends we have steak alot coz my dad loves to braai steak. We have salmon/other fish atleast twice a month. None of us drink alcohol although our cupboards are quite stocked. My dad buys wine bulk from wine farms once every 2 years when he visits my aunt in CT. We have beer maybe once a month. So that's why I try to save on things like household products and dry goods from Checkers. Not that we need to, just because I don't like to pay R3000 for one trolley of food. I feel too guilty.

I can't believe that we are going to have to take the trailor to the lodge just for one week and it's all coz of the twins. 2x cots, 2x mattresses, 3x blankets each, 1 large bag each clothes, 1 pack nappies, 3 packs wipes, 2x 6 pack milk, juice, bottles, medicine, etc. etc. etc. Ridiculous. And then we have to take all our own food. So we'll have to take my dad's Pajero and he'll have to come in my Honda. Even though my car is big it can't tow the trailor. But I don't mind. I LOVE my dad's car.

Jessica, when is the party? But we'll chat this weekend about it more. Can't wait for all the parties! :)

Busy weekend for me, Saturday - Meet, Sunday - Christening at 9, C dropping the twins at my aunt and then movies and lunch for us without babies. Monday I ahve to shop and pack and tuesday we're a for away. I can't freakin wait!!
