So we went away with friends this past weekend. we went to Sparkling water Hotel and Spa. what a great place. I really needed a weekend away. But I must admit, I am so tired today. and so depressed. just want to cry all the time.

they had this great special at the hotel. R395 per person per night (paid nothing for the children) and that included buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. they really cater for kids: a big screen TV with Popcorn. They had their own chef preparing kids food for them, while the parents eat in the dining room. we sat with mia in the children's room and took her with to our dining room. Xander is big enough to stay there on his own. then they had marsmallow braai at the fire for the kids. big games room, with a drawing and building blocks corner for the little ones. they have this spa for the adults and a "little person" spa for the children (age 4 - 16). I didn't go to the spa, but went there the previous time we were there.

But miss Mia was so out of her routine. On Saturday night she gave us such a terrible night. at 3 oclock I was ready to go and sleep in the car. I was thinking of leaving her behind, but then thought the people will phone us and then we have to drive all the way back.

so the sunday, we drived pass Magaliesburg for the first time. visit the Fairy place. Mia loved the sandput. then we went to a French guesthouse - stunning but so so expensive. then me and xander went to dip candles. he made one for his teacher, one for grandma and one for his girlfriend.... I had to make my own one...

Sorry for being MIA. I really missed the updates by email....

Christi. I just love the photo of Iris. love the shoes.

Chrisit, I also have that cookbook. I've got the english one aswell. I love to cook out of that book.

We don't really use butter or margarine. I don't cook with it. only use it for baking. And we don't really eat bread.

Nicole, we want a pic of the wedding cake.

Vix, we've always budgeted like you do. now, I just don't have the time and the energy to go to different places to shop. But we've got a daily budget for ourselves. and that includes everything, like petrol etc. in the beginning of the month, we withdraw the money and put it in the safe. Each morning hubby take out the day's "pocket money". every night he put the change back. At the end of the week, we go and eat at a restaurant or buy take aways with all the "Change" money. This is how we currently living on a budget.

Julz, I wish we had factory shops. I can remember all the factory shops in the Cape. I loved them.

Ally, you suprised me with your blog today. thanks girl!!!!!!!

Yoza, hope Buhle gets better soon.

Leigh: We've bought a nebulizer. a small one and worth every cent. If one of the children have a "ugly" cough, I just nebulize them. and I use it for myself and DH.

Simone, O no... why didn't they just phone you????? what are you going to do now?

Thanks Angelique for the compliment!!!!

Lisha I was thinking the same thing about the curry being quicker. All in one pot. Chicken curry goes even quicker.

Julz I'm again not a PNP fan...though if I was getting 25% back I'd become a fan even if it killed me.lol. Also like revamped checkers but also don't like their fresh produce.

I've just started watching the private practice season. 2 episodes down...about 20 to go!

I'm a bit disappointed survivor is so far behind. Before SA was about 2 seasons behind...now its almost 5! Season 21 is starting soon. I'm a huge survivor fan so would hate waiting for sabc 3 to show it!!!

Wish my interview was sooner...a whole week! But that being said...i can concentrate on my studies.

Feel like I missed out on alot...i read everything but my fingers are so cold...i really can't reply to everybody...but I did read!

Nicole....enjoy the lasagna and survivor:-)

Leigh if u have money....then I don't think family of 5 for R5000 is that ridiculous. Like I said upto 3m ago we were spending about that much...and we are 3. If u are used to certain things...its easily to rack up such a bill. We were also terribly extravagant in my opinion. I've had to adjust now, but i'm, glad for the lesson.

I have no idea what I did today except for chase my tail!!!!! This morning I got the kids ready - they arrived at school at 9am. I think thats my first problem. But from tomorrow they are at school at 7h30 again - that should add another 1.5 hours to my day. Got home, started off the slow cooker, got the house tidy. Then off to my aunt for a visit with mum, don't know what time I got home. A chat with my husbands colleague about salary, 2h30 fetched the kids, actually no I was late as I was finishing off gingerbread so it was 3pm. Then off to the minister as they just moved and took them some shortbread, back home and supper time. What did I do today????? I was meant to meal plan plus a few hundred other things!!!! Aaaargh.

Right, get kids in bath, print out meal plan and then I think its bake plan, and then I'm going to look at our bills. Somethings wrong with our family of 5 on R5000. Surely. Feeling bad now.

Julz I feel that way about PNP. I can't stand PnP's. Every single one I go to has a off-meat smell. I used to feel the same about Checkers until the one close to me got revamped. I'm still not crazy about their fresh produce, eggs and meat but everything else is fine. Canned food, coffee, tea, washing powder etc. I buy all the same brands I would buy at Spar coz I mean it gets packaged in the same place after all. But I'm not crazy about their housebrand stuff.

Lol Lisha. It's not like lamb curry is even that hard to make, It's just that the pasta literally takes me 15 minutes to cook. From prep to plate.

Have a good evening ladies

DH just phoned now to say that we need to go to the local mall again as he needs to get some stuff..so I said he must rather go alone coz I think they have banned myself and cole from entering the premises...LOL

Lisha, LOL at curry being easier to make than pasta in your house...hopefully next year I can do the Durban conference and pay you a visit for some nice strong curry.

I think it may just be tooo cold to do the ironing and I will rather just go to bed after supper... :silly:
