You can!!! and they're cheap.

I tell you what I do offer is - I really admire mums who have the time who want to make their own cakes but can't get the decor right. I do sell the decor just on its own. Cake/cupcake toppers.

And for those mums who don't have the time, well you help me get through the month so I love you all too ;)

If you do a search on facebook for Leighs Novelty cakes - you can see all my cakes :)

you could get foam cut outs ladies and practice icing them over and over.

Sorry, I don't mean to take over the forum with cakes....I'm sure by October November my inbox may be bursting. But I'm always happy to give out advice.

I buy my own plastic icing. To be honest, its the one thing I cheat with. I have a hubbie who works shifts, 3 kids, a house to run etc. I can cheat with just one thing - saves me time. I buy mine from Bellville - about R28 a kilo. Just make sure its not too soft otherwise a nightmare.
Though I'd love to try out the fondant icing made from marshmellows.
One day I'll branch out bigger but at the mo I'm just busy enough to juggle nicely.
The wonky thing, the trick is that you only have to cut one cake once. So the first cake you cut wonky, the second goes on top and then you cut that one at the opposite slant and then the 3rd. I didnt use boards inbetween.

Leigh I agree with you. Dylan doesn't like the first growth or regular milk. only formula.

That's such a cute cake. I'm definitely going to do the jellybean thing. I really love it. How do you do the wonky thing? Oh and also, do you make your own plastic icing or do you buy it? At the baking place I get all my supplies they sell it for like R20 for a kg. I think I would rather buy and colour myself than try to make it from scratch.

I'm actually thinking its the milk thats the problem. She doesnt' mind full cream milk in her cereal but I don't think she likes it on its own. Which is a pain really because its not so much the bottle I wanted to rid of, its the mixing of the formulae milk.
