julz - i asked my gynae why he cant check himself and he says that it is a year's extra studying to get thequalification to do FA's so thats why u send away to a specialist - maybe your gynae had the qualification and machine to do it?

leigh - how many mnths between nr 1&2?

re - sterilizing, snipping etc brett terrified and i refuse so we will be on contraceptives till menopause - I just think life is too complicated to take drastic actions - if my kids should die or i get divorced and remarry (heaven forbid etc etc i would want the choice for more

So had to come share, my boy has finally reached 10kg mark YAY lol. 10.2 to be exact. Injection was okay but as soon as she took his sweater off he knew something was up and started crying. Forgot as soon as it was done and he shook docs hand before we left. Now I asked him what did Dr John do to him and he says cut hair.

Simone that is just a cruel dream, but I do hope u guys get that money soon.

Helen your docs scans sound pretty in depth so that may be why he won't suggest FA. FA is combination of 2D and 4d and they do all the measurements etc. I asked for it with Shrey cos I am uber paranoid.

Sounds like a nightmare Simone. We had the same thing once. Frans was waiting for his overtime for 3 months, eventually it was paid in just before christmas - and then the idiots went and paid it again the next month - so we had to pay it back, what a pain!!!!

Scans are so expensive. I'm glad I had my girls in the UK where its all on NHS. I'd never be able to afford to have kids here.

Morning ladies

Is private practice S3 on tv yet??? Oh my word...i got whole season last night and first 2 minutes of episode 1 and I'm feeling so emotional. I actually just put it off to wait for Gerard to watch with me.

I made a nice breakfast. Sausage, potato slices, garlic butter sauteed mushrooms and runny eggs. My sister and her bf came over so they joined us.

the sausage was from last night...we put it on for supper then my sister and her bf showed up with divine romen's pizza for us... My sister has just been such a pillar of support in our financial crisis and tries to help us where she can. I feel terrible its falling on her....and hopefully I can repay her soon!

Guys I had the cruelest dream! Gerard's back pay was paid in and I went and paid all our accounts! man I was depressed when I woke up!

Leigh- I forgot to say yesterday, sorry you've been going through a tough time recently. I'm sure if you kick your butt into gear with the dieting you'll soon feel a ton better! If you're scared of more babies have you considered having your tubes tied? I am going to have mine done as soon as the twins are born and healthy. There's no ways I'm gonna fall pregnant again after having 3 kids LOL

Helen- My gynae has never sent me for extra scans or done expensive ones himself because he said everything looked fine with C and we were paying cash so he tried to keep our budget down. 12w is for the downs check and 20w is for all the major organ defect detection. I personally think it's maybe a bit cheeky that he makes you pay R1200 for the 12w one especially seeing as he does it himself! My friend just went for a downs scan @ 12w with a different specialist and it cost less than R700 but I suppose you're paying the price for living in Northern subburbs! Here by me the population is considered to have less money and therefore things are cheaper LOL My gynae just checks on his regular 2D scan for the neck fold and nasal bone and if he's happy then we leave it at that for the downs.
