DH & I would always shudder at the thought of lamb shanks and then we went to that spa resort last year and it was so small and the only options we had for dinner was lamb shank or pork chops ... needless to say we chose the lamb. It was divine. Not sure what sauce they had on it but it had a reddish colour much like I assume Ally's must look???

Nicole glad K isn't badly hurt.

My mom is having a hectic day with Shrey & my niece lol they both refused lunch, she eventually got Shrey to eat but the big one isn't as easy. And when I called the 2 were running after each other and making such a noise

Feeling a bit sad. Looks like my sister & family are going to move to Jhb - Alberton specifically ... don't mind my sis & bil moving but we're so attached to my niece and so is Shrey :( Hope the increased salary is worth their move ... I hate not having everyone close to me!!!

Lisha...that is so young...and sad re: watermelon...

Its my biggest fear...u see so many kids having cancer..small kids, toddlers...needing transplants... we go through pregnancy hoping to not MC...hoping to have the birth of a healthy baby...some people are not so lucky...then u try to avoid SIDS....and..u baby proof your house to prevent shocking and accidents...and....disease....and kidnapping...its one worry after another! Are we going to worry about our kids always? Well i guess i know the answer to that...

Nicole luckily he didnt get seriously hurt hey!

Ally...i would never wish that experience on anybody. I am sure it must have been very difficult. My aunt also died at about 40...12yrs ago now. She could not do anything for herself...she had a bag to pee in..bed sores galore...could not talk...morphine drip. When she died...it was really a relief for the family.

My cousin must have been around the same age u were when her mom died. She was 18. her older sister 20/21.

Yes guys...I am a total sucker for my kid. She is too darn clever and knows how to play us!

Vix thanks for update...lets hope she replies.

please no talks of lamb shanks!!! I love lamb shanks...only thing is i dont do fruit with food...so i cant imagine jelly/jam on lamb??? But seeinf as u guys rave about it...maybe i'll try it at a restaurant first...if i find a restaurant that serves it that way.

Ally I also totally get the whole relief thing as my dad was terribly ill for over 6 months and the last 2 months were terrible ... our lives were in such turmoil then ... another reason I'm so glad I had all these friends on pampers/moomie cos my focus for a short while each day was not on all that.

My cousin was 16 when he was diagnosed with germ-cell cancer. Apparently it was only growing on top of his lung and he was given 99% chance of getting better. Just over a year later we lost him ... The first op the did was terribly bloody and the docs say that caused it to spread so vigoriously. His cancer cell count came down to 1 at a stage and we all breathed such a sigh of relief ... next thing we know it shot straight through the roof. Will never forget that the day he passed on he asked for watermelon and I called woolies to keep me a tray but he never did get it :(

Nicole braai on weekday  enjoy. My friend is getting me apparently the best ever mutton cheese wors from the mutton market she shops at so will try that over the weekend.

Ara don't even talk about putting on weight, I am up 2kg's

Mandy glad Cam was so good while u guys were out. He must look so cute with dummy & teddy :)

I was reading up about weaning and they say we should do it gently and cut out one feed at a time. So maybe for now I must stop daytime feeds during the day when I'm at home and also stop morning feeds cos those aren't for him to soothe.

You will not find the Port at a normal PnP, go get it from the drugstore. I made the spinach and broccoli bake also with it and yes your DH is going to love you!!
