Yes, it is awfully quiet here :(

Girly, glad you feeling better. The baptism was beautiful :) I will post some pics as soon as I get them from my brother in law.

As for the sleep training, we are doing good. Some naps she goes down without any hassle at all and other times she cries so then I just put her on my lap. Has helped alot though because if she wakes up still tired, she now soothes herself back to sleep easily. Not sure what happened last night, she had me up every hour to put her dummy back in her mouth :) Hopefully she is back to normal tonight, we have not had any troubles with her naps today. Don't think its teeting because she hasn't been niggly otherwise and last night when she kept waking up she wasn't niggly either, just wanted her dummy back.

MinaMoo - hope all is going well with Sani and her nanny. Let us know.

p.s - anyone going to the moomie get together on Saturday?

Hey mommies

How are we all doing today?
Our forum is so quiet lately!

Mina moo shame I can only imagine! But it should get easier hopefully. And your feelings of worry are totally normal - leaving the wellbeing of your child in someone else's hands is not fun but we dont really have a choice unfortunately.
Someone said to me the other day, which was quite true - you may miss out on firsts, but the first time you see them do something, that's still your first.

Seems teething can start quite early and yet still take months for them to make their appearance. Do you find your babies drool has increased quite a lot recently?

BabyKsmom that's awful! If they had to take our PC we'd be lost. Think we really need to start backing things up! A few years ago they broke into our house shortly after we'd been on holiday. I had all the pics still on the camera, plus others that I hadnt downloaded, and they stole it. So we will never get those memories back. Also stole 2 rings that my mom had given me, one her engagement ring, and the other a ring she got when I was born, she gave them to me on my 21st. Makes me so mad to think about it. But just grateful that we weren't home and no harm came to us. Needless to say, we had an alarm system installed the very next week and armed response and automated garage door.

Little John is so cute in his outfit :)
Re sleeping through - most nights K goes down between 7 & 8pm, and feeds again around 1 or 2am so we get a 6 - 7hr stretch, she's surprised me once or twice by going till 3am, but also wakes occasionally at 11 or 12pm. No sleeping through our side yet. Apparently this starts to happen somewhere around 3 - 6 months. Think it also has something to do with introducing solids?

M2J when is your birthday?
I am getting old now :) Turned 29 on Sunday eeek! And I said I wanted both my babies by 30 lol. Means I have another 3 months to fall pregnant :) NOT!

Kerry A such gorgeous pics! Agree re the smiles. Yesterday DH was making growing sounds and sticking his tongue out at Kaylee, and she was copying him with the sounds. Every time he made a sound, she made a very similar one back. All accompanied by loads of smiles. It was adorable.

So I had the most horrible 24hr tummy bug / flu on Sunday night. Not a nice way to end one's birthday, and DH was away at church too. Sent him off to MKem to buy some vomifene (Thought I was done with that stuff!) and immodium. The pharmacist couldnt tell us for sure what was safe. Thankfully gynae still on SMS.
Hardly slept Sunday night, maybe 2hrs. Had to get DH to feed her with stored milk, and he was up pretty much as often as I was cos I was tossing so much. Then yesterday he stayed home to look after K, and I slept most of the day, only getting up to feed her. DH was exhausted by 5pm. Thankfully thats when I started feeling a bit better, although still somewhat nauseous. So DH took a nap himself. Dont know what I'd have done without him here yesterday. But we wont be able to do that every time, he's only been with his company for 3 months and already took early leave with her op in August, and came home early for me once when she was being difficult. I dont really have too many other options though, so I had no one else to help yesterday.
Feeling much better today thankfully.

But our little girl is a bit niggly herself. She was so tired / upset just now that she skipped her 12pm feed and went to sleep instead. I've also given her some ponado cos she seems much hotter than usual. So hopefully she can sleep it off now and feed when she wakes up. This is not like her. She feeds 2.5hourly no matter what, sometimes even less. Very seldom that we go longer between feeds. We are now on 3.5hrs since her last feed and she's still fast asleep.

Charnenay how's the sleep training going? Seems Emily has you on your toes at night. Not maybe teething?
BTW how did the Christening go on Sunday? Did you take pics?

Kaylee's dedication is this coming Sunday. We are having it at the same venue where we got married. Still need to organise the speeches and order of things. But we're just spending a few minutes on that, the rest of the time is for breakfast and introducing K to her family that she hasn't met yet.

Sorry for my awfully long post. Had a lot to update, its been a while :)

Hello :)

This CT weather today, perfect for lying in with a good movie under the covers ;)

BabyK'smom - oh no, this terrible...know this feeling all too well, we were broken into last year Feb when I was still in up in Joburg but I was in a security complex hey, that's the worst of it all! Hope u ok now *hugs*

The baby pics are sooo lovely, they getting so big but as long as they happy 'n healthy, that's all that matters :)

Well, i've made it through the week guys *sigh* but I almost cried my eyes out on Monday, had the sudden urge to just let it all out when Sani gave me this happy look as I walked out the door as to say, "don't worry mommy, i'll be ok" :) but I couldn't bare it :( I know she's fine and content with her nanny and not too mention all the phone calls from the office...I suppose my main concern was her well being and as to whether she'd be ok without me around!
Ladies, brace yourselves when you get back to work, it isn't easy, doesn't matter what the situation!
For those whom are still at home, treasure every moment as I'm sure I might miss out on something she discovered during the day I'm not around but what can I do....a colleague uttered these very words to me...reason we are working moms is because we wants better for our kids than what we had, so true!
My manager was so sweet to organise a welcome back breakfast the morn. and also to thank my temp for doing such a splendid job during my absence :)

Yesterday when I got home, Sani was soo irritable, her gums are itchy as I monitored her in the evenings, she would like suck on the hand more or the coiling seemed to increase so I got her some Ashton & Parsons infant powder as there's not much you can use at this stage. Her poo is ok, she not feverish or anything and her cold is all cleared up now - thank goodness, don't think I would have coped if she was so now this week! She took a while to fall asleep last night, my poor baby but got in about 6hours of sleep until she lied next to me 'n tossed 'n turned abit. She's down now for her mid morning nap & it's been over an hour already, they need there sleep to grow!

Have no plans really for the weekend aside from visiting my MIL and stocking up on some groceries for the week ahead! DH gave the game away that his coming to town soon, wanted to be a surprise but I still don't know when but from what I gathered it's very soon as he has to come down for another interview... :side: fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh last weekend I was forced to go clothe shopping as I needed other pants as I still cannot fit into my old work clothing  I must say I've lost quite abit & even my colleagues cant believe I just had a baby 3months ago but still, only you know your body and your size, I need to loose just 5more or so then I'll be my kinda my old self again - never can go back, things have changed but a good change ;) The truth lies in the way your clothing fits 'n not that scale! I'm short, 1.53 so any added kilo's is a no go but i'll get there, still breastfeeding at night ;)

I shall pop in again soon, I do miss this forum even though I do get some of you guys on fb, not quite the same :)

Take care 'n enjoy the weekend!!!!

Hugs!!!

Hi mommies

Haven't had time to post for a while but just popping in to say hi.
Charnenay and Kerry, your girls are gorgeous!

We were broken into on Friday night and they stole my laptop, amongst other things. I had my whole life on there! And lots of baby photos and baby stuff. Luckily we still have the baby photos on memory cards but still, it's such a violation when they come into your home and take your stuff. I hope they've wiped everything to re-sell, instead of looking through all my folders :(

But even though its made me so sad, my little boy cheers me up so much. Its like you say, their smiles are enough to make all the bad things go away. He is just too sweet and getting sweeter by the day.

He slept through 2 nights in a row from about 9/ 10pm to 4:45am both mornings but then last night was back to his old routine of 8/ 9pm to 2am then up again at 5:30. Only this morning at 5:30 he was so hungry he had me running to get his bottle ready so Dad could feed him while I pumped (I'm building up some breastmilk stock). And then he's been very hungry today. Maybe another growth spurt? Who knows with these little beans...

He had his 8 week shots on thursday, they weren't too bad, he wasn't really that feverish, only gave him calpol once.

Mommy2J, you are still a spring chicken, only turning 24! I admire you, I would have loved to have had my children young but didn't work out that way (I'm 31 and John is my first).

Here is a pic of him in his little league baseball outfit :P

Wow kerry that is great sleeping...esp for a breasfed baby!
Sienna goes down at 8ish also and wakes for a small feed at 3am and back down till about 7am. Depending on her feeding during the day she might wake up twice if she hasnt fed that well during the day! RE the smiles i know what you mean, all of a sudden there is so much more to that smile their little faces just light up and beam with joy it is just the cutest :)

Girly i agree, we all do what feels right and works for us its amazing how babies adapt to a routine if you consistant and follow through whatever your routine they know whats coming next and just in general seem happier, i now bath sienna everynight before dinner and give her a lil massage and she loves it if i dare try eat dinner first she lets me have it and wont settle till she's been pampered

cant believe the year is coming to an end.....wow
Jessica turns 3 this month
I turn 24 this month

WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE......exciting time of year though!

Enjoy your day!
