I got it from my post natal classes at Karien Camphor. About the 22:00 bottle, if baby does not wake up for it, then you don't have to give it.

I think if you feel like starting at 3 1/2 months, there is nothing wrong! Can't see what harm it could do. Xx

Hi Blessed -did you get the diet from somewhere or did you just use some tips and create this menu for yourself?

Looks good but is the 22:00 milk bottle not a bit late for a 6-12mth old? Just curious.

Ok, don't shoot me ladies, but I started Emily on rice cereal today
She doesn't drink well at all and has been that way since about 4 weeks and she refuses to have her last bottle of the day. If it is after 5, you can forget about trying to convince her to have a bottle. So, somedays she only takes in 4 x 175ml feeds for the entire day and even then, she sometimes doesn't even finish 175mls.

She is picking up weight well, so doc says she just has a small appetite and he advised that I start solids at 4 months. But I am worried about the amount of nutrition she is getting so I just decided to follow my gut instinct on this one and start her on cereal 2 weeks earlier.

I only gave her one teaspoon of the dry cereal mixed with 20mls of milk - she ate the entire bowl and absolutely loved it. Afterwards, she was looking really sleepy, so I just went to out her in her cot and she never made a sound. I went back in a few minutes later and she is fast asleep :)

Hi Ladies,

Its such a lovely weather in Cape Town.

Judes mom, shame man i am sure this is just a phase and it will pass hopefully soon, i can imagine how exhausted you must be, Fayaz has also refused the bottle i have tried Tommie Tippy, Nuk, Avent and nothing he pushes it out i dont know what to do as i go back to work soon my paeditrician suggests i try a cup i will see how that works.

Girly Fayaz refuses to sleep in his own cot he sleeps with me and feed every two hours he used to feed every three to four hours but lately he has switched to two hours :(

KerryA teeth already? Sometimes they show signs early and only get teeth later Fayaz is also drooling alot now, my Paed says it around the time their saliva glands start working.

Charnenay wow this is the first i have heard a baby enjoying cold milk, what do you do when you go out?

Blessed again you are so lucky i wish i could stay at home with baba but my hubby works from home as a web and graphic designer i cannot afford to.

Well, i took Fayaz for his immunization yesterday at 14weeks so far he has gained 7.4kgs :) he has been crying alot laterly the clinic found that he has a chest infection, he is now on antibiotics he is very niggly i just have to give him lots of cuddles. Any advice on expressing its really not going well for me i only get a little after a long time it gets boring i am using Nuk electric pump.

Ladies i am on for Wednesday it a little far for me but i need to get out guess i can do the drive.

Hi ladies..

Judesmom - shame girl. i can think it is hectic on you. I agree with girly, maybe just take her for a good check-up. Thinking of you! Good luck!

Girly - Armand was also like that. He did not go to sleep by himself. I had to rock him in my arms. So DH said that we should just leave him, he has to learn. He cried a bit for the first two days but now, i just put him in his cot and he sleeps. It gives me so much more time for myself. Armand does not sleep good during the day. also just a 30-45min nap between feeding times. I do leave him in his cot and put his music and little bears on and then i do what i should in the house. He skips a feeding during the night, but not always the same time. In the day he drinks every 3hrs.
Little K is a good weight my friend!!

Kerry - I also think that Armand's teeth is starting to grow. He chew his fingers and then just get so frustrated the same time. i then rub his gums with my finger, and he likes that. i'll def try teeje.

Eileen - I decided to become a full time mommy 2 months before Armand's birth. It was the best decision of my life!! Can not imagine to go back to work again!!

Ok ladies, have a great day!! Enjoy your babas!!
Blessings
