Hi all,

Ballet has been keeping me on the run! I have to go fetch my girls from their dad and take Abs to ballet every other day. And they dance about 3 hours a day. It's showtime next weekend, and they training for ballet exam.

Tx Kerry for the suggestion, I'm negotiating with some suppliers for those dummy clips :woohoo:

Congrats on the job J!!!!!!!

Iz is also full of bruises, ai, she seems to be slightly off balance from sunday. Been a bit better yesterday. But we've been struggling with a very unhappy, niggly baby. Think we due for some more toofies. One of our local chemists mix a teething concoction, which have been wonderful! I baked some special non-diary blueberry muffins for her this morning. And she loves Rye bread cut into cubes! I'm seriously running out of ideas to feed my angel. Iz's aunt organised some fresh goatsmilk from Durban over the weekend, oh how Iz loved it. So sad that I can't get some here on a regular basis, as my nunu seriously loves the fresh milk. Iz learned to say 'koekie', everytime I give her a biscuit she says 'koekie'.

Any of you downloading series'? Mentalist, The vampire diaries, Gossip Girl, Grey's, Two and half men S9, Big bang theory, Secret Circle, House? What do you think of the season premieres?

Flower, sho, poor angel, hope she gets well soon, the steroids should help soon enough. They usually like the nebuliser, it soothes them.

Hey ladies

My poor baby has croup :( - she sounds like a dog barking and it must hurt to cough because she cries hysterically after each coughing fit. It is so sad to see her sick. She has never really been sick before, so this is a first for us. She has had a cold or 2 and hospitalised in April for dehydration when she refused to eat or drink, but other than that, she hasn't been sick. I am assuming she must have picked it up from the play area at the aquarium - we had her there on Saturday and she put 1 or 2 of the toys in her mouth before we could stop her :( She was fine on Sunday and then woke up at about 2AM on Monday with a fever, we gave her some calpol and put her back in bed. She seemed fine again on Monday, just a bit clingy. When I put her to bed on Monday night, I noticed that her breathing was a bit erratic. I put her down and not even an hour later, we heard this barking cough over the monitor and then she started screaming. This went on for about 1 hour, she would dose, then cough and scream and it seemed as if she was struggling to breathe so off to the emergency room were we. They gave her some steroids and sent us home, so we were at the paed's office yesterday morning and he diagnosed croup, so we have to neb her twice a day and administer more steroids :( She is soooooo clingy and naggy :( She doesn't seem to mind the neb though which is great, she just lies there dead quiet as long as I give her, her hasie popie to hold onto :)

My poor baba - hope she gets better soon.

CONGRATS Janine! Glad you found what you were looking for, will hold thunbs that you fit right in. A three year gap isn't all bad, but also you could do the unpaid maternity and claim UIF... i don't know how much you would get but it is far better than nothing. And don't stress on the bumps and bruises... K seems to always fall and scratch her left eyelid... and then just as it is healing she does it again... It will pass!

BabyK - Hope John is feeling better today? These poor babies are sooo miserable when they are sick!

Congratulations on the job Jeanine! How exciting, well done you! What is the company called? Is it close to home?
I haven't heard about my interview yet. They said they'd let me know early this week, wow, this patience thing is frustrating hey? But I sent off my application for the UN job last night so I'm doing what I can. If I hear back from the UN, that would probably only be in a while as I believe they are quite slow with job placements and tend to interview over a long process.

Shame John has a tummy bug. He vomited all over this morning and has had 3 bad nappies but seems much better now. He hasn't vomited again so I'm hoping its maybe a 24 hour thing. I've got a doctors appt booked for tomorrow but I might cancel it if he is better, I'll see.

Ja its the chicken pox jab at 12 months or so - its not govt subsidised so its a wee bit expensive, I think it was R357.

His teacher is away for 2 weeks so I am trying to work with him around. I've hardly done a stitch of work today but that is also because he has been sick. Hoping to get more done tomorrow.

PM your business idea sounds awesome, those kind of things will always sell well, especially for where you are since you don't have lots of malls etc. How are you going to do the online payment thing? Just eft into your account or set up a proper credit card payment thing? Good luck with it all! I've always thought since we are moms now it would be nice to sell childrens things. Or work in a children-oriented environment.

Shame Kerry, sorry about your Aunt's Dad. And poor K getting sick too. Glad your mouth has almost healed though.
What do you do when Kaelyn's school is on holiday? Or does her school do holiday school?

Cute Robyn, she just wanted some mama love! Sweet. John gets all coy when I ask him for a kiss and then leans in towards me but doesn't really do the mouth thing yet. Its sooo sweet. Its like he gets all shy. He is going to be such a charmer one day ;)

John born 30 August 2010

Willem doesn’t walk anymore, he RUNS everywhere. He tires me out! Don’t always know how FIL does it. And he is forever full of bruises and scrapes. I don’t even notice the new ones anymore...
Saturday morning he fell over his own feet <sigh>, caught himself on his hands, but the momentum was too much, and his feet actually lifted off the ground, and he ploughed into the ground face first!!!! So there he had this nice red scrape down his cheek...
Then, on Saturday afternoon we went to a wedding (DH’s cousin), and his aunt looked after him – he went running outside, and fell on the pavement. Guess the same thing happened again, but this time he scraped his nose and lip!

Saw another cousin at the wedding (that had her LG 2 days before me), took one look at the LG, and told her I can see she isn’t really walking yet ;) She had no scrapes or bruises on her legs/feet

I got a new job!!! Went lightning quick, they saw me on the Monday, did a skill test and quick interview, by Tuesday the recruitment agent told me they are interested, and on Thursday I signed the appointment letter!!!!
I’m starting there next week already - very nervous, it’s a MUCH bigger company than I’m used to (um, from a company that had avg 15 people to a company that employs 400+), and the work is in a slightly new direction for me too.

The only slight negative – they only pay maternity after 2 years – and the plan was to start TTC again from Nov/Dec (2 year gap). So we either go for unpaid, or have a 3 year gap. I’m leaning towards 3 year gap, but DH is pushing for sooner.

Oh, and they are VERY strict with their internet usage policies, so I’m going to have to log on at night from home, which might only happen once or twice a week, when I can drag DH away from his PC games

Hi Ladies,

Sorry, been MIA again, bit hectic at the moment.

I try and read often, but by the time I want to type a reply, I get busy again

Few quickies (that I can remember)
Beautiful photo's. Sher, K looks so gorgeous in that pink dress!! And just love the little curls
Robyn, Dakota looks all grown up in that photo, a little girl, not a baby anymore.

Cols, Had to laugh when I read about Evan’s tantrum ;) Sounds SO familiar nowadays <sigh>.
Willem’s favourite is to just go ‘pap’. When he gets upset and I pick him up, he arches his back and kicks to get away from me. Then when I put him down, he won’t stand or sit, just collapses on to the floor, and lies there crying...
Funny thing though - he does this WAY more often and MIL’s place - think he figured out that Ouma or Oupa will come and feel sorry for him ;)

I still have to take Willem for his 1 year checkup (and what jabs did they get!?! Was it the chicken pox?). Never seem to get the time, and now he is getting sick again... His aunt and cousin (3yr old) is visiting the In-laws for a week, so he sees her every day, and she is ALWAYS sick (or so it seems)

Willem suddenly started to wave in the last 2 weeks - before he would hold up his arm, and open/close his hand to ta-ta. All his Oupa’s fault, since he always does that, instead of waving...

Sher, poor K, being so miserable around the family, and that for her birthday too! It does seem to be a phase they go through. Willem is also starting to notice strangers. But funnily, he seems to be okay with kids, and some women, but dislikes strange men :S. When he walks around, and sees a stranger, he would stop, look at the person, and then start walking backwards

I went and looked at the video of that shark now, that is one BIG shark...

BabyK, any feedback on the interview yet? Holding thumbs for you!

Kerry, glad you are feeling better now.
Hehe on the toilet. FIL learned the hard way when he had to fish his DVD’s out of the toilet. Luckily he hasn’t figured out how to flush yet ;)
He can’t reach our bathroom - we still ‘lock’ him in the lounge, but won’t be able to for much longer. Willem has learned to climb on our couch. And the first things he wants to do, try and WALK on it! And then climb over the armrest... My nerves.....
