OK the weirdest thing just happened... Last week I sent in my Prescribed Min Benefits Form to Discovery... but after hearing that they also only pay my service providers in hospital at 80% I canceled it not wanting to be out of pocket. I have no clue what happened... but they decided to call me and check whether I really wanted to cancel as from my High Blood Pressure in Pregnancy I have been approved. They wont reimburse the last visits to Gynae as they only kick in with their ante natal basket of visits after a savings is depleted. But that for the next 4 visits I will onyl pay 20% of my Gynae visits etc... I asked if it impacts my plan and they said no. As this is out of hospital benefits. And my plan takes precedence over them in hospital...

Say what? Anyway I opted for it and am awaiting confirmation that I have this benefit and also that it does not affect my Hospital Plan (as it pays 200% to service providers and my Gynae charges 200%... so dont want that touched!).

Hope this is for real and I dont regret it... Maureen what happened with your app???

Lucy - sounds like you had an awesome shower and you really got loads - well done!!

Mrs SH - you're so lucky to be staying home as well. I thank DH every day for letting me stay at home.

After baby weight - I've been thinking about that and we obviously can't take any tablets if we are breast feeding. I will be getting that Cherish Belly Belt which apparently sucks your tummy muscles back in and helps you hold them there - it's R399 but I think it's worth it.

Also going to be starting some or other gym class so that I can get back into shape. DH doing loads of research for me (so cute) about Kettle Bells, which apparently is a great workout for after pregnancy!

Lucy - phew that's a truck load! I'm so glad you've got everything now.

Re leave, I'm not going back to work. It's going to be tighter than we thought, but we'll make it. We've been living off DH's salary since February and we've made it. We've tried to save all my salary, but if we bought anything unusual (like baby room stuff or car service), we've used that money. But it's going to be tight. I told DH that I'll go back to work, but he doesn't want me to until baby is here and we can see whether I want to go back etc etc. He is really the best DH in the world.

Skylerv - you know, I keep going on about gaining 13kgs etc, but I read up that on average you should gain between 8 - 15kg. And ok, so I'm probably going to be around 18kgs in the end, but there's absolutely nothing I can do about it now. People reckon you loose about 12kgs in the first 6 weeks. And most preggers ladies sit with a bit of flab for a few months afterwards. So I'll just be one of them. It sucks, but it would suck more to not have been pregnant. Also, you gave yourself 9 months to gain all the weight, so give yourself 9 months to loose it all - it's just fair.

I'm quite active normally and I'm just going to pick up my usual regime when baby is here. I've decided and pledged that I will run the Spar 10km run next year and am planning to do the Shape run-10km-in-12-weeks programme when baby is in a good enough routine to start training. That has definitely lifted my spirit - whether I'll actually do it is another story, but giving myself a goal has helped.

Sorry ladies - I can't remember who else posted, sorry!

Skyler - Thanks for the tip about the bone meal - the guy knew we had dogs but his after sale service is so shocking that I won't even bother calling him to find out. DH did scold him - we also knew it was him and not the other dogs because the moment we walk outside and say "What's this?", he runs away. Every time he dug, we scolded him but it didn't seem to help. I'm going to try the poop thing and also get that "off" spray and hopefully he will get the hint. He used to dig in the sand before, under our tree, and we just let him do it because it didn't bother us, but now it's our grass - blady hell!!

Okay, I'm seriously going to start studying now - cheers ladies ;)

Morning ladies yay we all chatting again!

Well went to gynae this morning ..... i picked up 3kgs in 5 weeks.... flip man i am sad, so in total 13kgs, so looks like i will be 16kgs at the end, although the gynae said i am on track and she asked nothing about my diet or moaned so if she is happy.... :( but i am not oh well am going to try my best to eat healthier and do some more walking...

Breyton is weighing 2kgs at 32 weeks :) Also they found some protein and sugar, etc in my urine so are sending away to see if i have an infection you know i had a feeling as i really do think i pee way to much! lol so will only find out in 2 days and if so must go on antibiotics... so will see

Eve - regarding the dog, did your garden people know you have dogs? Reason being as when you lay grass some people put down with the fertiliser something called bonemeal BUT if you have dogs they must NOT do that... because the dogs will stop at nothing and will dig dig dig..... because of this bonemeal so call your garden peeps and ask them this first.... Also do you scold him when you find holes or do you say nothing? if you dont say anything he wont know its wrong... we used to take them to the hole and say "what is this, what is this" in a loud voice lol and shout at them then go inside and leave them outside for a bit ... now they dont dig... (well their motivation is they hate being apart from us lol so this worked) now as soon as we say what is this to anything we can see exactly which dog did it as that one is like a sad sorry look on his face and will even walk away!

Mrs SH YAY on gandi that is awesome!

Baby room, we are not ready yet or hospital bag i really want to wait for my baby shower no point buying anything now, i have a feel its next weekened so about 2 weeks to wait!! (if my guess is right!)

Nelria - so good that lea is feeling better now must have been such a toll on you!

to everyone else hellloooooooo feel like i have talked to much already!

From Cape Town: Little boy (Breyton) due 13 June 2010, delivering at Blaauwberg Netcare :)
