Lucy, hay babes, how u doing? Been thinking about u alot. Glad all is getting better. Happy birthday to London, he is one week today. I only have 6 weeks to go from today, cant believe it? Just wish I could sleep.. Been up since after 2am.. How is all coming along..

Skyler - did they say why it took 3 times to get the epidural? did you feel it while they were doing it? i mean, was it sore? im so poep bang!

Okay here goes my birth story

Tuesday i woke up about 7am and went to toilet then when i walked back to my room noticed i was "leaking" it was not a lot and first thought it was wee! i was like what the hang? went back to loo left again and it carried on, i was thinking this cant be my waters can it? Anyhoo just in case i finished packing my bags but by this stage i was wearing a pad and shaking lol i was only 38 weeks and 2 days, called gynae and they said i must come in with my bags, so DH rushed home went to gynae and i was already 2cms dialated and she confirmed i was in labour yikes! still no contractions tho, so got admitted at 10am then we were so bored waiting for contractions we went downstairs for coffee came back up nothing, they hooked me up to monitor again and said i was having but i could feel nothing! then lucy came to say hi (so strange i tell you meeting her for the first time in labour), by 12 gynae came up and i was only 3 cms.... so they put me on oxytocin drip to bring on contractions and speed up, at 5:30 i was only 4cm.... so by this stage yes i was getting bad contractions about 3 or 4 every 10 mins, but coping. She asked if i want epidural and that i must know that labour will take another 7 hours!!! 1 cm every hour.... i was coping with pain but knew i couldnt do that for another 7 hours. So i said yes okay, by 6:30 epidural was in BUT they only got it right third time lucky i cannot tellyou the pain between them keep trying and the contractions at the same time flip i did swear... finally after in pain went away and gynae left.... 30 mins later breyton's heart rate dropped drastically and it was decided i would have a emergency ceaser as he was in distress. It was the best thing as the cord was around his neck! flip. I cannot tell you what i felt when i heard his cry it was amazing and i did cry even though i thought i might not. He is amazing! Ceaser was not that bad (although took my uterus out twice.... and i started getting feeling back but then they zoned me out on laughing gas).... but the pain after i was suffering and the morphine puts you on a hectic high!

Its so amazing being a mom, i am lucky i had colustrum and lots of it, then my milk came in on thursday night and since then am coping. First two days i struggled to latch him and thought i would never get it right but now all is going well. I am demand feeding but to be honest so confused with it all but he seems to be drinking and he sleeps alot! Breasts got very engorged on Friday so had to send DH out to get me cabbage leaves from his mom in the middle of the night ha ha shame, last night tho struggled with getting his winds out i was near to tears so woke up DH and asked him to do it, he got it out and then Breyton slept for 5 hours!!! only thing i dont know about is how long should they sleep for? it seems so long sometimes but i know he is eating soooo.....

Okay am gonna cut it short seems like a blog here.

To those waiting - good luck its the most amazing thing in the world i love him to pieces and he is gorgeous!

To lucy - thanks so so much, even tho it wasnt planned was awesome having you in hospital with me, borrowing breyton london's beanie, giving me jungle juice and just being there for me and letting me use your shower! (i had a bath). Our little boys are one day apart!!!

Hey Eve - with Netcare it starts with day baby is born till 12pm the last night - day 3 for natural and day 4 for Caesar, Caesar if elective will depend on Gyane start times not hospital. For example my Gynae operates at 8am on Mondays and then 13h00 on Wednesday's. For emergencies there is no timing obviously... they happen as when needed.

Yes had local and that was the only thing that hurt me and feel less painful than drawing blood. I hope you have the same experience should you go that route or have to.

As for me LOVE LOVE LOVE my son! He is a bit colicky and cries a lot before feeds cause of previous winds coming out, but we are getting him into a nice routine. I must say only have enough breast milk pumped for 1 alternate feed currently. So we alternate with Formula. I still cant get him to latch, but he is a lazy bugger and I personally think my huge boobs scare him lol. They were engorged the other day and I did the hot compresses and cabbage leaves... thank God they are fine now!

Waiting for the full milk to come in though... think if I had gone into natural labour London would have only come at 40 weeks or so and possibly I would have had more milk. But Im taking my meds and its working. Need to just keep on drinking loads as I forget in between everything ...

hi ladies wow been mia for a while. My son is gorgeous am so in love. Will post long story tomorrow on mobile now while breast feeding him in my other arm! Ended up having a c section due to distress and his cord was around the neck. Contractions were bearable but my labour was slow then that what an experience tho. Also was in hospital with lucy amazing or what! Was so awesome. Breast feeding started off difficult but once hang of it so worth it. Oh and milk is in but sitting with cabbage leaves on they are a bit engorged. Gotta run will post full story tomorrow. For those still waiting its so amazing hearing that first cry i started to cry. He gets cuter every day and you fall more in love

my mom is busy packing and sorting the clothes! She's such an angel!

The lady that works with the accounts told us that! A sneaky way of making money since most c-sections happen before 12. But it's fine! I'll build a bridge!

I'm so excited! From what I hear donating blood hurts more than any part of a c-section! So I'm not scared of the spinal, I'll get an injection to numb the area; I'm not scared of the catheter, I'll make sure the do it after the spinal.

And my doc says he doesn't have a problem with a video camera, but the nurses might! So I'll just tell them that this is our special day and not one of the masses they witness every day! Wish me luck!!!

And I'm glad these won't be World Cup babies! Blue Bull babies would work so much better! Maak die Bulle almal Bokke!!!
