Hey all, haven't had time to read blogs in detail, but mmm...got the humping part...hehehe

Going well this end, Caitlin was at paed yesterday and she has almost regained her birth weight (2.5kg vs birth of 2.6kgs). Paed says her jaundice is gone!!! and we must just have her hips sonared again at 1 month to check cos she was breech baby - the one hip was spot on at 60 degrees and the other was 59 degrees at birth. Should be corrected by one month.

Was struggling to wake Caitlin every 3 hours for feeding (as per hospital staff instructions due to size) and started feeding her every 4, but paed says I should demand feed her and just let her sleep...SHE SLEPT FROM 10PM TO 6AM LAST NIGHT! Great!!! only problem was paranoid mommy was getting up at every noise and grunt to check if she was awake, so I didn't really get a fantastic nights sleep!

Lucy - great to hear that your experience was good! All in all, mine was good too, just hated the fact that my arms were all over the place due to reaction to spinal. London looks like a sweetie pie!

Mrs SH - I had a slice of cake today, bought it from Linos bakery. Was divine!

We saw the gynea again this morning. LG is 3.1kg @ 37w3d, my bp still keeps on rising, so dr. has subscribed me some more meds and then on wednesday (9th) we have to be at hospital at 6am. The c-sec will be done a bit later. I am getting so nervous!!

Hey Guys again only on for a lil while so thought I would give u a quick rundown of what is happening...

- C Section was great, from the friendly staff to the actual op everything went well. I actually didn't have ANY pain before or during op. No pain with local anesthetic in back or the spinal or even the drip! Felt like having blood drawn was more painful! The tugging while opening me up during the op felt also more like baby moving hectically ... that was all... The feeling though when the pulled baby out was OVERWHELMING - as most of the beginning I was so scared and focused on op that I almost for got their would be a baby at the end.... DH and I shared the most loving Instamatic stare and tear welled joy filled smiles as we realized that London was crying! Never been so in love with DH or baby in my life! Wow!!!!

Then the world wind to follow, they sewed me up and still felt nothing, loads of fun and jokes and friendly people in theater, felt like the Walt Disney Ride of C Secs haha! BUT I HAD MENTALLY PREPARED MYSELF TO ENJOY IT... this helped! It was my birthing experience and I wanted the MOST of it!

Then went to recovery which sped past as one nurse chatted to me the whole time giving me tips on baby!

Then up to my room still within the hour where I immediate got to skin to skin my baba!

Only problem which arose was the painkiller (Morphine) was way to strong for me and I felt sick the whole day and puked a lot. But slept in between and tried latching baby as well...

This is where my problems started tho... I had no colostrum... yes can you believe it! Nada, zip, not a damn thing! I went through the motions many times over the next 3 days but nothing... so baby had to have forumla. But the cup fed him so as not to give nipple confusion! I was stressed and baby was stressed... Eventually Dr prescribed a pill to bring milk in and I decided a different approach... I want my baby to have BREAST MILLK, but cant get him to latch... so decided to use a pump and try and give it to him in a bottle... Bingo! Milk came in yesterday and I give him as much breast milk as possible via a bottle and just top up feed if need be. Then while he sleeps I express for next feed. It is working as my sister in law bought me the Medela Swing from UK and let me tell you it is the bomb!

Not conventional, but as long as I do skin to skin and continuously express it seems to be working and Mom & Baby are happy. DH is over the moon as it means he can feed baby now and not wait till 6 weeks!!! And baby is getting Breast Milk nutrients.

The next problem I am working on is trying to get London to finish ALL his food in one sitting as this makes him sleep longer. Currently I offer him enough to sleep for 4 hours after but he drinks just over half and wakes up every 2.5 - 3 hours. Doable. But after changing, feeding, burbing, putting to sleep and then expressing - there isnt much time for Mom to sleep... so day 2 at home tomorrow we will continue on our merry way of trying.

So that in a nutshell is what I experienced and am going through...

Guess everyone is different, my boobs dont hurt at all, but I just cant get baby to latch nor did I get milk on my own.

But all is well that ends well.

Jane- Glad you and Caitlin are doing well! Seems your lg is a real sweetheart to sleep 4hours straight. Lucky you!

Eloise- Finally your last day at work, you better relax for the next few days!

Nelria- hope you feel back to your old self soon, glad your dh is being so attentive.

Eve- At antenatal, they mentioned raspberry leaf tea and I’ve been meaning to buy some, just afraid of how strong those contractions will get. We were told to drink a cup a day from 38 weeks then move up to 2 cups a day at 39 weeks and three cups a day at 40 weeks. I haven’t mixed the jungle juice yet. I was thinking of doing it when I get home from the hospital since milk comes in on day 3 or 4 so hopefully the juice will help that along. Don’t worry about Connor not engaging yet, some babies only do it when you go into labour. Good luck to your dh with his marital arts fight, he sounds hardcore!

Ooh, I love the race! I’m gonna try and bring on labour from 38 weeks coz Mateo is estimated at 3.7kgs full term and I don’t know how I’ll push out such a big baby. Unfortunately, monkey business is out, pubic bone hurts way too much but apparently orgasms have the same effect so will try that and castor oil. But I’m sure by then a bunch of you would have already popped.

Sal - at least you know when baby's coming now. Healthy baby + Healthy Mom = successful birth. I can't wait to hear how it all went. Good luck and best wishes and I'll be thinking and praying for you all day!

There are a couple of things I still need. Baby City has sold out of cupboard lining so I still need that. Our most awesome chest of drawers still has a tinge of polish smell to it. And then I want to get a normal (not digital) thermometer. Which ones do you ladies have? I wanted the Braun one, but R450 is too much at the moment.

I feel like having a massive piece of baked cheesecake. I might have to go get a piece...eish!

EVE - LOL at dh being surprised and unaware of the fact of not getting any after a babe he he he he what was he thinking? i must say lea was born 11nov and by about mid dec i was up for it again so wasnt tooooooo long seeing i had natural and bled for about 3 wks

sal - u go girl stop worrying on how but rather focus on who is arriving

sal friday is perfect day your hubby gets 2 days pasella with baby whoop whoop I am also shit scared of c-sec and still hoping for miracle of natural but if i cant hey cant beat myself up so relax, chill and enjoy last minutes of u alone

backgroundinfo: when i went in for dehydration a lady that was scheduled c-sec came in she was in labour too far along for c-sec or epi so she had to push a 4.5kg baby out LOL man the grunts from that room had me and brett wide-eyed even though both been there done that

so any way he is like right ok yes lets rush him 38 wks is safe and we still want manageable size LMAO

so ladies saddle up, tweak them boobies while sipping some tea and lets get these 3 popping
