Lucy - congratulations girl!!! Wow, shame about the pain killers. I had myprodol and voltaren? supositories (worked VERY well). Can't wait to see pics

Eloise - Caitlin was born 27 May (not June)

AFM - We were discharged on Sunday and went home only to find a dark cold house with no electricity so we climbed back in the car, lloaded the camp cot and went to my MIL. What a lifesaver. The heater was going and she made dinner and baby sat for a while Had to go back for paed to check Caitlin yesterday and he decided her Billie (jaundice count) was a bit too high, so we ended up coming back to Unitas and have been under lights since yesterday afternoon. Caitlin is a real trooper and I was glad in a way we came back cos my boobies were ROCK hard and I couldn't touch them and Caitlin struggled to feed. I went straight to the storks nest at the hospital and they helped me SO much. The consultant said I shoudl purchase a 1 day breast pump and I have been expressing (LOADS) every 3 hours for the last 12 hours. Fed Caitlin via bottle (EBM) cos she was very lathargic and not sucking well due to lights. She fed this morning from my breasts and only had a 10ml top up from the expressed milk bottle. They came to draw blood from her this am, so I hope we can go home later...oh yes, had 3 poop nappies in a row last night which is a good sign. Her colour is back to normal already!

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND - He is a beautiful little boy. You will be a great mommy and yes, breastfeeding does become easier, you must just be determined.

What was wrong with the morphine btw? and how was the spinal block..

I know u will be a wonderful mommy, and breastfeeding I am sue will get easier.

I am so glad to hear the staff are amazing.. I am sure it makes all the difference in the world..

YES I am actually typing this from my bed in hospital staring at my beautiful baby boy!

Very quickly!

Name: London Matthew van Vught-Kues (a mouthful to say the least!)
Apgar: 9/10
Length: 51cm
Weight: 3.41kg
Lungs: In serious working order and lets us know when he is not happy with things very quickly
Features: Gorgeous with a dimple and LOTS of hair!
Born: 08h38

All I can say is... C Section was a breeze, the morphine wasnt and I had an awful time till the changed pain killers and the pain is very manageable. I am already up and clearly moving around, so the op itself was a success and pretty easy.

Breastfeeding is not easy but we are managing and Mommy is very determined.

Not tired yet as this lil tike wants to sleep constantly!!! So only difficult on the ears when you wake HIM up!!!!

Gerard and I are truly blessed and no one could have prepared us for how amazing this feeling would be - BEING PARENTS!!!!!!!!

Till I can focus again as Im sure I wont have much more alone time after this! Hospital is truly awesome, feel like the staff and service is out of this world!!!

When I have a chance I will give the full birth story!!!
