Newborn and baby advice

Thanks Bronz! Really needed to hear that! Worst of all is I didn't even leave her, she was lying on the bed with me and Carl, we were both sitting up chatting and she was sleeping, and the next moment she was on the floor. We just didn't watch her at that exact moment. Now I'm super paranoid!! It won't happen again!

She's doing well, she doesn't even know about this whole debacle! I had her at ER on Friday, was very dramatic as she was given a 'RED' status and were attended to immediately as she was there for head trauma (while she was happily smiling and playing). The ER doctor suggested a CT scan, so I took her up and they scanned her. Then another doctor saw me standing there and asked me what she is there for and I explained to him and he then said in a very rude and snotty manner "So you're happy with the dose of radiation they just gave your child while you can see there's nothing wrong with her." So he made me feel bad all over again. I didn't know anything about the "dose of radiation". Bottom line, R3000 and a snotty comment later we got the scan results and it's just a bit of blood under the skin. No harm done. At least now I got pretty pictures of her perfect brain for her album

Awww, don't you just secretly love the moments where they want to be with you?? I like Kara to be independant and comfortable with people, but it is still nice to know they prefer you!

Got my Annabel Karmel book. Now Kara just needs to get ready to start eating!

Adri. You are not a bad mother. You are a GREAT mother. Accidents happen. The main thing is that you have monitored her and now you have seen an issue so you are following up. It will happen to all of us, it is not possible to watch all the time even though every one says you should. Graeme almost head butted the carpet the other day (you can see in my pic on facebook).

How is she now?

Graeme threw his I want my mommy moment now. Gave him to a friend of hubby's and he started crying. Once I took him back he was happy. This is the first time he has ever done that. He is normally happy to be passed from person to person. (Maybe he smelt funny)

@Adri ~ i've just been lucky that it hasnt happened with Tayla yet... i leave her on the bed way too often to just run and fetch... whatever... After reading your story I must make a mental note to stop doing it! Our bed is quite high from the ground nd we have tiled floors... so a hard fall!

Thank you ladies on the congrats for the photoshoot.. we also got a call back today for another one that she was shortlisted for. I know the second one is a UK clothing catalogue... first one not too sure yet - called Babybonus? Lets hope she is in a good mood!

@Bronz - just wish it would happen quicker... so bizarre that she is so good with eating and sleeping with the nanny (Which she isn't with me) but playing is the problem! Babies! Who can figure them out!?!?

Kara fell from the bed on Monday I feel like a dog. Bad mom galore. She only cried a bit and seemed her normal self afterwards, but last night I noticed a huge lump on her head (a soft watery one ). So I'm taking her to ER later this afternoon just to get it checked out. Have I mentioned I feel BAD BAD BAD??

And on top of that, she's got her first tooth!!!! It's way early, but it explains alot about her grumpiness the last couple of weeks!! Poor little thing!

AND on top of that she's going for another jab tomorrow. So I'll let you know how much she weighs. She's quite heavy, was almost 7kg at 4 months.

How's everyone's week been? I'm so grateful it's Friday and I can spend the whole weekend with Katie. Hubby was at a work do last night and stumbled in (hehe) close to 11. Wouldn't have been a prob if the dog hadn't woken me up ARGGGG!

Katie's starting sitting for short periods - like seconds, but still! I'm so chuffed
SHe also loves 'jumping' on my lap or a hard surface. Too cute man!

What's news on your side? I'm on a go slow as I haven't been paid my full salary for last month (was paid for one out of 2 weeks I worked). I won't get ito it as I'll just get myself all worked up again and threaten to resign!
I've given teaching a lot of thought and it's not my first option. I come from a family of teachers so I know how much work there is and you land up at the 'office' from 7am to 3 or 4pm - which is more than I'm going to negotiate for here...and the pay is better
