Salaams Ladies
Lol Nov2010 - I must have completely misunderstood you!
Honey - I think that if you stay with your current job you're going to spend your entire pregnancy stressed and when you do go on maternity leave it will probably be tainted with the knowledge that you have to go back to a job you hate. Hopefully during maternity leave you will have an opportunity to look for another job and go for interviews etc...
And if you're concerned about the extra cash, maybe start putting a little bit away each month from now to be used only when you're at the end of your maternity leave and looking for a job.
At the end of the day, my advice would be to make istikhaarah and then do whatever you feel is best - somehow asking for guidance from Allah before I make a decision always puts me so much more at ease with the decision that I have taken - coz I have faith that He would not guide me wrong.
Suraya, I don't think what you're saying is strange at all. I don't have any personal experience but I was recently contemplating that although I think I'd like to be a SAHM, I think I might go crazy if I had no adult interaction during the day for days on end. I think I'd probably have to do stuff like go for classes/talks etc...And chat on moomie so that I can speak to adults
But maybe you should find something with flexi-hours and try it out to see how you feel? You might feel that being away from your lo for a few hours a day makes you a much better mom the rest of the time!
RaziaP, my weekends are booked up for the foreseeable future with weddings and functions... (I thought May was off-peak wedding season - but it doesn't seems so!) and then there's the soccer, so I don't think I'll be able to make a meet anytime soon. But if the other JHB moms are around you guys should totally go for it
