Tessa now weighs 4.4kgs. I have been cleared by the gynae. Why does no one warn you about the 6 week check up? Grrr the most painful pap ever and I was not expecting an internal exam. All done I guess.
Mothers day- pretty sure dh hasn't twigged. But I will spend time with my Mom too. She is only here for a month!

What is every1's plans for Mothers day

Hi there. Wow, this thread has died a bit over easter....

Had my 28w scan today. Baby has turned to head down, hence the movement feeling diffirent these days, and me not getting enough oxygen.
He is measuring 1.2kg, and his feet is 6cm long already! think he is maybe a big boy. Doc couldn't get his length cause of the way he is laying. (Head down, back to my left side, but above belly button but more to the left, and feet by belly button to the right. So a bit curled up. Everything looks great and perfect. And I am healthy.

He did give me some magnesium tabs (cant remember name now) for cramps. Woke up screaming the other night with a cramp in my calf. It hurt for 2 days afterward. And I am going on progesterone tabs from 32w cause my lg was prem. He did however say that I am not high risk because my son was born at 39 weeks. This baba must really stay inside till the end. But he is a nice big boy, so he is a strong baba.

I am so freakin tired. Wake up a couple of times to go to the loo, and this baby is very busy at night when his mommy wants to sleep. Oh, and my house is a mess, my ironing is heaping up, and I could just give a damn. I have absolutely no energy at all! If I believed in vampires, I would say that one is stealing my blood at night. Hehe.

Anyway. I am almost ready to pop, and there hasn't been another bfp on here. How is things looking for you this month klk? Oh, and JoDon? You still on smep?

PS. Please keep my dh in your prayers. He is writing exams next week. Maths on Tuesday and business management on friday. He really really needs to pass. The 2 subjects cost us over R2000. If he passes, he can take 2 more. Its a total of 27 subjects, and he has finished 5 so far. (In one year)

Vix - my very first d&c when I was 19 I only got my period about 8 weeks later. it all depends on your body and I know the UK is very different from here. I am so very sorry to hear about her loss though

Klk - wow Connor is 2??? good grief and Congrats mom just hope he skips the terrible 2's. DH and I have decided that I will resign and stay at home for about 2 years to a) skip all the buigs at creche and to finish my degree I was asking out of curiousity because I sometimes muddle ppl up hee hee.

Lucy - bilibed very definately gone since last Monday and it was a total money making scheme. Mark did research and Rowan's blood results were well below needing the bed and besides breastfed babies - it takes 2 - 3 weeks for it to go - grrrr!!! He is not yellow at all and we just lay him in the sun for about 10 minutes everyday.

Thanks to everyone for the comments on my birth story - he is angelic despite screaming our house down every night I would not trade him for all the money in the world xxx

Vix to answer your question - I went for a D&C as I had a missed MC (baby died 2 weeks prior to us finding out) and it was 5 weeks before my period returned. It went back to normal again.
However I did HPT tests regularly to monitor my hormones going back to normal and it was around 2 weeks after my first negative test that I got my period if that helps any.
So she can take a HPT (which ofcourse could mean one of 2 things, pregnant again or hormones still having to come out of her system) and once theyre negative she can expect her period sometime later.
Without a d&c it can take much longer though, and sometimes a piece of pregnancy can stay behind and delay AF, and sometimes a person needs a D&C anyways to clear that out. I know with Sal it took over 3 months for her period to return. Cant recall how they sorted that out but it was very frustrating cos the doc kept telling her to wait it out.
As for trying again, some people will ovulate before the first period but you cannot date the pregnancy cos you have no LMP (cannot count the MC bleed as a period) so doctors prefer you to have one cycle first for dating purposes. While others say to wait 3 months but thats mostly for emotional recovery. She must wait until she feels ready, and thats different for everyone unfortunately. I started trying again after my 1st period - I remember how excited I was when it arrived!!! But cause of the added pressure it took 5 months to conceive - whereas first time around we conceived first try.
The good news is that because she's managed to fall pregnant before, theres a good chance she'll do so again without too much trouble.
