Pregnancy after D&C

As promised..... We will take some more this weekend. He gets so big as the weeks go by. I can't believe that he will be 1 month next week.

Thank you for the welcome messages, glad I have found some ladies who have “been there done that” and come out on top! My doc isn’t in on a Friday but I think I will phone her on Monday to see what she says. I remembered this morning that even though I had the D&C on the 22nd I started bleeding quite heavily a week later, I went in for a check-up and my doc gave me Cytotec to contract my uterus and expel the blood that was left – luckily it was only blood and not tissue. So I only actually stopped bleeding completely about 2 weeks after the op. DH and I did DTD about 3 weeks after the op (when I was sure the bleeding had stopped) only once, without protection but I really don’t think I’m preggie. None of the same symptoms. The last time my boobs were incredibly sore and none of that now. Last week I really felt like AF was on the way I even had some pinkish discharge but nothing! Anyway I will wait to speak to the doc next week.

I feel for those of you getting little to no sleep, in some crazed probably hormonal moment we decided to get another puppy. She is like my substitute baby and I can’t bear to leave her alone! My family thinks I’m nuts! Anyway, we’ve had her a month now and she wakes up every two hours! I need to get up, go to the bathroom, sit with her for 20 mins while she falls asleep and so it goes, all night! Suppose it’s good preparation for when I do actually get my BFP.

@Lucy you are so right, I just want to talk to everybody! I ended up crying at the Vet the other day coz she was talking about how dogs are like some peoples kids – told her my whole sob story!

I am also still very angry! There are pregnant girlies @ DH’s office who didn’t even plan for their babies and they are still smoking that makes me so mad! And people who are given these precious bundles and don’t put them in car seats – that makes me mad too! I suppose though it is one of the phases and this too shall pass.

I like the idea of thinking it only happens to special people, I strongly believe that we are not given anything in life we can’t handle and everything happens for a reason. What that reason is we may never know!

I am sure I will get to know all of you much better in the coming weeks and months.

Dinky - I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs !! Different people need different things to heal, for me I wanted to TTC right away. Some ladies need to take time before TTCing again. But I think that no matter which category you fall into, you will always worry and stress when you do fall preggie again. I think that one of the sad things about an MC that people don't always talk about is that it robs you of that naivete in pregnancy. BUT I think this happens to people for a reason (even if we don't know what it is) and I like to think it happens to special people. Talking and talking some more was the thing that helped me the most, so talk away ....... we're listening!

Esmari sounds like you are sorted, well done and eina about the tooth! Hope you manage.

Chan - I am sure I can rustle up some chains so that you can tie yourself to the doctors desk. I would do the same as you and demand answers. I am sorry that things are difficult with DH, totally understandable a I think having a baby makes things harder anyway, let alone NO sleep !! You are being brave and I think it is a lot harder than you let on. Thinking of you.
On a happier note, my new position is going to be taking me to PE once a month, so if you are keen to grab a cup of coffee let me know.

Angi, I promise I will try over the weekend. I use dh laptop, and at night getting everyone settled its just too difficult. But we have a loooong weekend, and I will ask dh to quickly edit the pics for me.

chan, sleepless nights can seriously cause damage! I can see with myself on the odd night he wakes more, I am just crancky and snap at dh for nothing. Anyway, Gerhardt doesn't sleep a lot during the day. He woke up at 8, and only went to sleep just now after another feed. Now he will feed again at about , have a drink, and then sleep till about 5pm, have anotheer drink, bath, awake time, another feed, then bed at about 7pm. I'm just very relaxed about it. Sit in the room with dimmed lights, and he is still awake when I put him down. And I stay untill he is asleep.
But every child is diffirent - I hope pead can sort you out! Ps, my sil, mil told me that she had probs with my sil dh reg sleep. He just wouldn't sleep, and she had a 4month old girl, and he was almost 2. So she started sleep training them both, and it took her 3 nights....... Rather her than me....

I forgot to add - I had an emergency dental app yesterday. A tooth that broke years ago formed an abcess, and I was in so much pain. He did what he can do for a bf mom. Cleaned it out, put drops in to avoid having to take meds for it. Now I have to go back for a roote canal. Jikes.

Dinky - welcome to our group. I'm so sorry for your loss. Take as much time to chat to us as you need and cry as much as you need. These girls on here are amazing and we've all helped each other get over the hurt and pain and get back into TTC again.

After both my D&C's I got my AF after 4 weeks. If I were you I'd maybe give it another week and then contact my Doctor. I do recall that somebody on here last year I think went 8/9 weeks without AF?

Like the others suggested - take a HPT and see if it's negative or positive. Just remember that you'll only get AF when your HCG levels have dropped back down to 0.

Debbie how are you doing? I'm sure you can't wait for your Dr's appointment to find a way forward!

AFM we're seeing the paed on Monday. I can't do this no sleep crap anymore. I'm finished, my marriage is on the rocks and my daughter has to sleep at my mothers house every night just to get some sleep. I'm not leaving that Dr's office without a plan of action or a referral to a specialist!

Dinky so sorry for your loss hun, its neva easy to deal with the pain and hurt, cry all you want...you have come to a wonderful group of ladies for support, they feel like family to me already. Re your question I think it differs from woman to woman, did you do a HPT just to make sure your not pregnant again...I'm sure the other ladies on here will be able to give you better answers...

jojo, I have been so mia, but between tending to dh, 2 bigger kids, trying to make the hoiuse look at least respectable, breastfeeding and sleeping, I just don't have the time! But here I am, while the house is empty ang Gerhardt is still sleeping. Hehe.

ag no chan, I really thought you were going to get some sleep by now! I hope you find a sollution soon! Its not good for ones emotional wellbeing to get so little sleep.

after my d&c last year, I waited 5 weeks for my af(period) to come back. It can take longer, but if you are worried, contact your doc. Is there any chance that you might be pregnant again already? Cause that is possible if you did have unprotected sex.
anyway, I was told that you are most fertile in the 3 cycles following yourmisc.

gerhardt is growing so fast. He already doesn't look like a newborn any more. When he is on his tummy he can lift his head. And his eyes are always so awake taking in everything. He started to try and 'speak' to his mobile. He loves the lion on it. And he waves his arms at it. So cute. Last night he gave me so much sleep.. Drank at 8, off course I got into bed too, woke up at midnight and again at 5. And it only takes about 40 minutes and he is back in bed again.

anyway, should get up and dressed before he wakes for his feed just now. Toodles.
