Pity about Dr Tania Victor only being able to see you in July, but I'm sure there are plenty of other lovely doctors out there should you still not be happy with your current doctor.

Re: Epidural - if you are going natural it is entirely your choice and no doctor can force it on you. If you are having a c-section you would have to either have an epidural or spinal block. If you are planning natural and the doctor is forcing an epidural then you definitely need to find another doctor.

Re: the pains - my cousin said that with her last pregnancy she got horrific back pain at one point that was so bad she was crawling around on her hands and knees crying out in pain. The doctor said it was either IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) or kidney stones. Not sure if that's the kind of pain you have or not but perhaps you could ask your doctor if she thinks it could be either of those 2 things.

Ashbabe - if you planning a natural birth, your gynae definitely should not be telling you that she WILL be giving you an epidural!!! It's fine if you want one, but she can't force that on you!! It's a personal choice.

Julz its been like stitch like pains and they get so bad that literally i cant walk and if i can fall down, i would.
she said i had a bladder infec a month ago, gave me antibiotic took that went back 2weeks later she didnt even test my urine again and i still took a sample.

the pains have got worse and i think its nothing to stress about but i dont want to assume that? i woudl really like a answer when i first mentioned it to her she just looked at me with this blank stare?
like u say address the problem with her, i will be doing that on thursday and just hope by then i feel confident with her.

I am not one to get panicky and fustrated but something is just telling me to get a second opinion.

One of the ladies i chatted to a while ago also asked me (now plse dont get me wrong) i dont know how hospital etc here work with labor and all but the gyne told me that she WILL be giving me a epidural, there no question about that, (i am all for one as well) but this one lady asked me whats her reason for it and cos i want one i didnt even ask? is that normal?

I always feel that if you have a problem with your doc you should address it with them first. Then if you are still not happy move on. xx Good luck.

ps what kind of pain do you have?

Ashbabe - if you still feel you need a second opinion, I am with Dr. Carmen Barker at N1City - she delivers at N1 City and Panorama though. Her number is 021-595-3834. I have been with her for 4 years and am very happy with her. Good luck.

Thanks ladies, i will be back on my mission today calling all of the one you all suggested.

Julz i know its not the fact that she got the sex wrong or assumed what it was its cos i have been having these pains for over a month now and she cant explain what they are??
it could just be a common preg symptom but saying that she still cant answer me ;(

i do go there again on thursday and maybe i will just end up not leaving til she answers me as there a few questions that i would like some answers on.

Have a great day ladies and thanks once again
