AFM...39 weeks and 3 days...still pregnant still got such bad heartburn

Went to swim at gymn today...well i say swim but i must of looked like a freak. I more "bounced" up and down the lanes telling this little baby to make a move on down! I am just so so so sick of been pregnant now. DD is Friday and doc said he will not take me a week past DD....but think if no sign of baby by Tuesday (after easter weekend I will INSIST he induces!) LOL sure he is used to crazy preggy ladies! My sister is back next tuesady from the wedding in Durban so at least she will see baby before she leaves the following weekend.

IN laws are taking us out for curry tomorrow night...LOL think they must also be getting impatient with a meal offer like that !

I am feeling very hormonal the last day and a half (DH finds it fuuny!)LOL which does not help. Hoping that it is a sign my body is up to something. Feeling very tender between the kegs as well. Every time I go wee i examine the loo paper fro some kind of blood but am always dissapointed (LOL 9 months ago I DID NOT want to see any blood and now I feel like a vampire waiting to spy some).

I do have a little funny feeling that baby will be here by the end of easter weekend so lets hope I am right!

cant think of anything else to say...bags are all packed, nursery readiy, mommy and daddy ready so just hope teh chipolata is ready soon!

so so mad!!! Have just lost all my personlas!!!! It took me over an hour!!!!! I feel like a double wiskey now I am so fustrated!!

I am so sorry been MIA! My sister arrived a few days ago from Dublin and leaves tomorrow morning for Durban for her sister in laws wedding so have been so busy non stop! The good news she bought with her is that she is 2 months pregnant! My mom is so happy bothy her girls are pregannt at the same time and I am so excieted thta i will be an aunty! Our babies will only be 7 months apart...just a pity she lives in Dublin!

Schatise - little arnos pics are just too beautiful! Your mom looks like she is been really useful (and not in an interferring way!) You must be happy to be home now! LOL had to run and check what size nappies I had afetr reading your post! I have about a months supply and then will be trying my best to use my Bambino MIo ones with maybe disposables at night. They arfe all size 1 so hope that will do!

Meags..GL wit thte last attempt at BF. I really hop eit comes right, but if not YOU MUST NOT FEEL GUILTY...think most moms would have given up in the second week! That swing sounds fab! Got given something simpiilar from a neighbour who said her baby hated it (its a fisher price one). only got it yesterday and need to get batteries for it! Hope it becomes a life saver of needed!

Betty, I dont have a carry cot but I had a hand-me-down one for my oldest son. I loved it but you cant use it that long, especially if you had a big baby. So if it costs too much then just leave it.

Lucy, the sleeplady said up to about 8wks I think their awake time should not be longer than 40 - 60mins at a time. So I kinda think if she is happy to fall asleep after her feed then let her. Otherwise if she is awake just check she goes back to sleep after being awake for about an hour. I noticed with Reuben when he got to about 6 or 7wks he didnt do the sleep eat sleep thing anymore and wanted to do more awaketime.

Oh and I dont get do to much baking when he is so niggly during the day! Its really a bit of a problem I can put him in his carseat for a while and he will sit there staring a bit. So I have to quickly dash and see if I can get something done. I also put him in my kango sling but its really hard to work with him hanging in front of me as I cant see or reach very well then. Ag.. I just have to make do.. what I dont get done during the day Ill do at night when he sleeps longer.

Newyum, well we are all here waiting it out with you But Im really hoping you wont have to go 3wks overdue!! eina..

Meags, thanks for the nice long post.. I miss your regular ones.. and yip, I had a snack of Milo cereal to munch on.. you wont find me without a snack these days. Shoo that feed sounded a bit hectic.. strange that he cries so much when he feeds but then still gets a good long nap in? If something bothered him it wouldve prob intervered more with his sleeping? Pls ask your paed if lactose intollerance can cause him to be so fretfull with feeds? I had 2 friends with similar issues and both babies were diagnosed with it. If he isnt then atleast its one more thing to scratch off that could possibly be wrong. Im praying that your weekly goal of getting him to breastfeed will work out well. If not you can be at peace when you take those tablets that you have tried your very best!

Misty, you cant just dissapear on us like that!!!!! Whats up??

Im so irritated with myself, Im constantly hungry Not normal hungry, as in ravishingly hungry.. when I wake up at 3am I feel almost nauseous of hunger. And I eat really well.. too well/much almost so its not that Im not getting enough food!! I had lunch today and it hardly felt like I had anything.. was still hungry right after eating. It cant just be the breastfeeding, Im actually either standing still in weightloss or slowly gaining and its frustrating the hell out of me! How am I going to lose a few kg's to atleast fit into my normal winter clothes???? At the moment Im stuck between a few larger pants and my maternity stuff and Im way to broke to go out and waste money on larger size pants for winter.. agggg man! Is it possible that the Microval gynae put me on can cause these extreme hunger pains???

meags: I must admit reading your write up on your experience really scares me in a way. It must feel horrible doing the best you can and trying every trick in the book.....and nothing!!!!
Have you tried a Chiropractor???? Sometimes babies experience problems with feeding cause of muscle spasms which is related to the birth experience......
In our Antenatal classes we discussed babies that cried non stop......and they suggested it.....
As mommies we have to try all things and what works for my baby might not even work for you.....but it is worth a shot!

I am seeing Doc next week Tuesday again.....he is on standby during the long weekend .....obviously not for me but his daughter is having twins and he wanted to be close (lucky for me)
After today's doc appointment I am both relieved that I am still a good candidate for natural birth but a bit sad that I am carrying so long......I need to be released from carrying this baba!!!
My mom was 3 weeks overdue and they eventually induced her.....I really hope that I am not gonna carry that long!!!!

Meags, I hope you come right one way or the other. You've done wonderfully to try so hard, and I know how emotional it is to give up on BF (I cried buckets when I had to stop feeding Em) But you've given him a great start dispite the challenges.

Schatsie, you sound SO happy its wonderful! Glad things are going well and lovely to get help from your mom. Yes, very over my tired spell, lasted maybe an hour.

Misty, not long now honey! Are you going to try any natural induction methods?

Newmum dont worry about baby not desending, most babies actually dont engage untill you are in labour. But lots of walking and ball bouncing will help

betty, wow, cant believe that you are still going! Wonder women you!!

AFM, had a busy week-end, but enjoyable. Looking forward to this week-end, nice to have a short week and spend more time with DH. Got a party planner coming to meet me on Sat to discuss Em's birthday, so I'm looking forward to that as well
Kate remains a dream, we're having much more alert stages with her, so nice to talk to her, but she's also just as happy to lie in her swing or next to us and just "look" around.

Rakker & newyummum good luck with the waiting game - you really have my sympathy!! My last few days felt like a life time!

AFM had a lovely day. Went for a quick shopping trip to PnP Clothing to look for some more baby grows, but they didn't really have anything we liked or in newborn size, then to PnP to get some basics. Last night we had a "nappy scare": we finished the nappies we got from the hospital only to realise that we have NO number 1 nappies - we bought number 2s and up cause we were always told baby was going to be so big! Luckily DH managed to find one sample which we got from the hospital, but therefore we had to go shopping early this morning! My mom gave baby a lovely bath and he absolutely loved it - in hospital he screamed when he was bathed, so clearly my mom's way, although maybe old fashioned is much nicer for him! Then we had a visit from 2 of my aunts and my great aunt from Holland. She brought baby beautiful Dutch clothes - too cute! Also my one aunt used to be a professional photographer, so she started taking pics of A. Then we decided to make it into a whole photoshoot and did all kinds of settings, etc.. So I got a lovely free newborn photoshoot! I will post some pics ASAP.

What a lovely day we had!
