oh yes Anje I also wanted to comment on the washing of clothes...

I just put everything into the washing machine with our clothing and normal washing powder and all looks fine!
Also tumble dried everything and it's all good

Hi ladies

Wow Cath, even thought the experience was not completely what you expected, you sound very positive. At least it is over and done now and you can enjoy your little man and I don't think he is that small. Love the pics !!

Joli, that sucks, I hope you can sort out the medical aid probs.

Rakker, hehe, no I think she is just shy.

Meags, thank goodness the garden is mostly sorted now, hope you can figure out a way to keep the kitties inside. Thank you for the update on K.

Cath and Joli, tx for the advice on washing of the baby clothes.

Enjoy your day tomorrow ladies !!

Really, you guys are chatting too much! I'm not even going to do a single personal. I am still trying to get over this stupid cold, so I hardly visit Moomie. Thanks for all the well wishes. Hopefully I will feel well enough to go back to work on Thursday.

OK, I have to do at least this one personal: Cathm, congrats on your cute LB!

You guys remember my disappointing 4D? Well this little bugger turned back sometime during the night! She is head down again. I could feel the movement felt different from what it was like yesterday and the gynae confirmed that she is head down once again. How is that for spiteful :P ?

hi ladies

well the gardener just left...I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. I really hate confronting people...so I always just pretend to be happy with what they have done. There is only ONE thing he didnt do - but for me - it was an important thing! I just didnt have the heart to say anything as he was so impressed with his work and he did the outside pathway and back pathway for me at no extra cost plus extra pressure washing of the walkway. so i really didnt have the heart to complain!!
He was suppose to add more soil and plants along the wall (about 2-3 metres) which he didnt do...it's not the end of the world. He did clear out the rest of the "jungle" and did do the other part of the plants so ya...sigh...I really need to be more assertive sometimes! I'm not gonna tell DH...he'll be annoyed that I didnt speak up!

Joli - that photo is gorgeous! Callum looks so tall!!

Shame so sad about Kaylae.

Anje – I’m using baby sta-soft and I machine wash – with my 1st born, I hand washed, but when you get to baby no. 2 you don’t have time for that anymore.

Cath – Kayla was 2.6kg and born at 39 weeks so it’s normal. Callum was weighting in at 2.495 last week Monday (14 Feb) – so he should be about 2.6 – 2.7 now. These babies just look bigger on photos. Some nurses can really work on your nerves – the reason I went home a couple of hours after Megan was born! But please don’t keep quiet – tell them where to get off. Why can’t they just be helpful instead of trying to discourage you? LOL it’s quite amazing when they latch correctly – they are so tiny and helpless, but they know how to grab a book LOL! Hmmm I can’t see why you need to use formula if William is latching and drinking, but anyways, do what you feel is right. I’m glad that you don’t have so much pain anymore. That’s a bonus. He he on the bag – well DH had to pack my bag so I never got to pack a bag anyways.

Well girls as for my medical aid – I need to pay in R2000 for the anaesthetic – can you believe it! But now the problem is they’ve given me a bill for R3900, but the bill Discovery received from them was for R2900 only (yes they’ve told me to pay cash as they don’t submit to medical aids, which I did and then they submitted to Discovery as well!!!). Well Discovery will reimburse me R2100, but now when I call the doctor the woman asked me so what do I want her to do now??? So I told her I want to know why I’m getting a bill for R3900 and Discovery a bill for R2900 so where is the other R1000 now, so she just said that she can’t tell me why Discovery says they only got a bill for R2900 – argh man so complicated – been phoning the whole week to sort out these issues.

Hi to all the other ladies.

I took this pic of Kayla & Callum today :-)

Cath yes wow, well done on all the long posts and thanks for the update! Did you take your laptop to the hospital?

Thanks for sharing your c sec experience - it's good to hear it from another first timer like me! It's also nice to see the pics - it's a good reality check. :)

I TOTALLY agree with you, I rather take 20 min of discomfort, no matter how bad, than 10 hours! Yes, I know, I'm a wimp! :)

I also don't think William is THAT small - anything above 2.5 is normal as far as I know. Damn inconsiderate of the paed to go on about his weight tho - they really don't think before they speak sometimes! I really think most of these drs need some intense bedside manner training!!

When we went to Panorama medi clinic on Sat they said they (and apparently all medi clinics) provide ALL the toilettries, clothes and nappies for baby while he is there, so I've decided to ONLY pack a going home kit for my LB. If I change my mind and want our own clothes DH can come home quickly and get some.

I do however think I would want to wear my own pyjamas - I'm not too fond of those gowns,
