oohh thanks Cath!
I am going to add Walmart to my list :)
I now have Babies R Us, Ideal Baby and Kids and Walmart :) Yippee!

EmsMom - I dont feel better. It hasnt improved at all even after those antibiotics. Still thick green phlegm coming up when I cough. I will see how I feel next week. Maybe I'll try go get a nose spray or something in the mean time. But apparently here a pharmacy doesnt sell medication...You have to go to a drug store?! will have to find one.
As for the homebirth - yes I could have one, but DH is hearing none of it. He is too scared!! And I want him to be involved in the decision making and don't want him uncomfortable and freaking out - so birth centre it is :)

well I'm going to dry my hair and get ready. DH should be here in about 30 minutes to take me to get a car and then the hunt begins!
Wish me luck!! (to find a birth place and to drive!! hehe)

oh yes as for ordering online...I'm just worried it doesnt look as nice as the pictures. and I read some online reviews and people were saying the cots were smaller and therefore the mattresses didnt fit, the wood was soft, so scratched easily. so will just go to the shops I have found and hope they have everything I need!

Meags is there not a walmart!? I've bought tons of stuff online from them - beautiful bedding, the cot, the pram, the car seat! Even with postage and duty it's a good deal and they have SO MUCH variety!!

Good luck!

Howdy ladies

How is everyone today?

Meags, are you feeling any better? Perhaps best to go see a Dr. Also, can you not go for a homebirth yourself? Good luck with the driving, I'm sure you'll get used to it in no time. And just order all your baby things online - online shopping is so much easier over there!

Misty - That is too cute of your DH, men are so cutely silly at times. hope you friend manages to have the birth she would like - remember very rarely do we actually produce a child too big for us to deliver naturaly. And damn good idea about driving from one end to the other!

Schatsie those pics are too cute! And yip def a little boy there! You can get a registery at baby city or baby boom, but honestly I would rather send a list to them on what you want, cause the baby places often mess up the registrey.

Kaylae be careful love, those falls are very scary and one of my biggest fears. Hope you are feeling better today.

Karin hope you come right with the PJ's. I'm actually not even going to bother, will deliver in one of DH"s oversizes t-shirts. and just take off when I want to feed. I'm far to tired to go running around shops to find something suitable now.

Rakker, Nice that you have all those clothes! And good luck with the room sorting, just remember to take it easy.

Lucy, how you feeling today love?

AFM, doing alright today, really couldn't sleep at all last night, was up till around 3am and then had to wake at 6am to get Em ready for school... so as a result I have a sore throat :( But otherwise doing great, have been asked to go full time at my job, so the salary increase is great and perfect timing :)
Baby is a total worm and I love it, he/she responsd to me prodding my tummy and is far too cute! I'm so looking forward to having a little baby in the house :)

Meags i have only bought from Ikea instore in the uk before...so not sure if dif in the us?

I would suggest you call the shop...speak to them and then order online?

those freeways sound like a nightmare! i never trust gps..in fact the only time i found them to work nicely was when i drove through central london (it warned me all about congetion charge lanes and bus lanes etc! Hope you are surviving the drive and having some joy wit hthe hospitals this afternoon. I would also be freaked out with nothing and nobody! My friend i told you about in the us is due tomorrow and she is freaking as baby too big so she will probably have to have a c section! She said to contact her if you have any probs / questions - astrab@gmail.com

Off to shower now...this day was just too long and hot!

schatsie I am getting a little worried!
I dont even know where I can buy cots, prams, bedding etc so that is a bit of a concern...
the driving is really scaring me. they mainly have highways here and it's so confusing. they split into a fork so often and often the gps will say to stick in the left lane (for example) and then in actual fact, the very left lane is only for people with a sun pass (toll entry sensor thingy) so I would think to just listen to the gps, but in fact, you have to listen to it and take note of which lane you are allowed to drive in!!!!

setting up the house should be ok. we already found most of the stuff in Ikea and once our trunks are here, that's all our kitchen stuff done.

has anyone bought stuff from Ikea before? there is something that confuses me....
for example, we want one of the couches and bed that is on display. my mom then gave me the idea of ordering everything on line instead of having to go back there. fabulous!
but when i look online, i see you have to order each part individually! like the base of the bed, then the backboard, the base slates, side tables etc.
so it'll be the same at Ikea. how do I make sure I have ordered all the bits and pieces????
