LOL @ Mistymom for driving from WW to Edgars at Canal Walk!!! And thanks for the idea - think I will do that too in future! Malls have become quite a nightmare because of my pelvic and back pain and I get tired so easily!

Meags nice to hear from you! Good luck for all the shopping and settling ahead! When are you moving into the new house? Shopping for baby alone is daunting enough for me, so I wish you all the luck with setting up a whole new house, getting a car and getting used to driving on the wrong side of theroad! You are brave indeed!

hi ladies

Karin the problem is that the cough never stopped! I've had it 4 weeks now. The last time I took the antibiotics it never got better or anything?! It's really weird...

Well today I am sitting in the hotel until lunch time, so just chilling, catching up with you ladies and relaxing. Preparing myself mentally as this afternoon I have to drive alone!!!! i am SO scared.
So DH will come get me at lunch time, then we are going to the airport to get a rental car and then having lunch then I'm on my own!!!
I am going to look at 2 birth centers and 1 hospital and need to decide in the next day or 2 where I'll deliver.
Would like to try find a baby shop around too and see what kind of cots, prams etc they have. But I'll see how my first driving experience goes!

Kaylae please be careful!! Those falls are common in 3rd trimester due to center of gravity being out - but still scary!

EmsMom - I am so jealous about your home birth!!!! That is so amazing :) Cant wait to hear how your midwife appointment goes!!!!! Are you going to wait to go into labour naturally or do you want them to induce you at 37 weeks?

Tazzy - 5 weeks left!!!!!! that really is nothing...it's going to fly by!

Schatsie - your 4D is so clear!! So jealous! And yes, I think he also looks like you!!! How precious!

MistyMom - you are so organised! I don't think we'll even start on the nursery until next week and then I'm 32 weeks with nothing for Matt yet! I know I'm really cutting it fine but need to actually sort out the house first, delivery place etc before starting on the nursery.

Rakker - feel free to abbreviate to Matt! I dont expect people to get it right for a while!!

ah I cant scan down any further....Lucy hi!!! sorry I cant remember your post..
and hi to everyone else cos I cant see your posts either!!

I have to admit that it freaks me out a bit that I have no gynae, midwife, hospital or anything. really hope I get decided on that one quickly!
We went car shopping yesterday and found the car for me. problem is that DH hasnt done the transfer yet so we didnt have the money to buy it and they cant hold it for us until next weekend. and the cars usually only stay about a week so we may miss out on it. It's a Kia Rondo.

well ladies, I hope your day is going well! It's only 8am here!

Hi Schatsie - do a baby register at your Baby Boom or Baby City or whatever is closest to you and the people that will buy stuff for you.

MistyMom - Just returned from our Edgars in town and they are all sold out since Friday... :( Only have like XXL sizes left... Not sure if I'm dissapointed or relieved... But now I really dont have a clue what Im going to get. Will have to improvise somehow, but I cant go for winter PJ's, still way too warm in March here for that.

Mistymom thanks SO much for the teddy bears shopping tips!! I really am not a huge shopping fan and feel so uncomfortable and tired so quickly lately that it will be great just to go to WW and get the stuff I want - no matter what it costs! After all, I'm only going to have a first baby once and saved a LOT on getting all the clothes and cot and cupboard for free, so I can afford to splash out on the perfect bedding!

It's my birthday on Wed and I've asked for the day off, so I think I will pop into WW then and get the bedding.

My sister just asked me whether I have a baby register for the baby shower. Apparently my aunt asked about it. Wonder if it's worth it to do this now. Any ideas on where and how to do this?

Schatsie - I have teddy bear linen! I bought it at woolworths in Canal walk - the mothercare section. It is a bit pricey as mothercare brand imported frmo uk, but I had the cot bed I had bought from mothercare so wanted the linen for it. I have also seen teddy bear linen at baby city in sommerset road, greenpoint. Jet in canal walk also has teddy bear reeiving blankets. I also reacll seen teddy bears in edgars at canal walk. The big PnP clothing stores also have lovely blankets with teddy bears on, but my best was teh mothercare range from woolies. It is top quality so I did not mind paying extra for it as i am sur eoit is going to be washed often! Have funshopping and let me know how you get on! Nice that DH is all excited about the cot...at times like these it is always good to have men about!

KarinM - dont worry about PJs. I looked today at canal walk wooliesa nd edgards and just cant find what i want! Woolies was full of valentines pink and red sexy things and edgards....they only have the shelly range which I don not think even my mother would wear! Agree with you...just not my style....so I am also still onthe PJ mission!

Rakker..ok..so i ma not the last! BUt the way things are going anybody can be next! You so lucky to have all those clothes already! At least it sounds like you have loads of storage.

AFM...counting down the minutes to home time...a hot one again in CT today!

Meags, glad your trip is over. At least now you can start to recover and plan your new life with little Matt (please excuse the abbreviated version as I can not remember the correct spelling...).

KarinM, I can believe that you are feeling very uncomfortable at this stage. I am dreading that phase... I already feel more uncomfortable than I felt last time at this stage. I also need to do the pajama shopping, but hopefully I will find something that will work with our variety of shopping centres in Gauteng.

Schatsie, glad you are getting things in place. Only washing the old baby clothes made it all feel more real to me.

MistyMom, I am even more behind you, so I will only be at 30 weeks and a bit in 5 weeks time. With my son I though that the antenatal classes could be a bit too close to my due date and it turned out that it was, indeed, the case. I paid for 7 classes and only went to 2. I still feel cheated :S . I went to the first class on my own as DH had a project that he needed to finish. It felt a bit awkward, but I just told the people with our introduction (how far in pregnancy, boy/girl etc.) the reason for him not being there and then I felt fine.

Kaylae, those cramps sound hectic. I get this weird stabbing pain in my left quadricep every now and then. Not a cramp and very localised, so I don't know what that is.

Tazzy, yikes! That is so little time left. But believe me there are some jealous people here...

AFM: Sorted out 3 refuse bags of clothes and blankets during the weekend. There is at least half of the stuff that I can re-use, so not bad. I have washed and folded and packed away half of that and the other half is still drying. And that is all that I have done. I need to sort the room out as our study will become the baby room and is it full of stuff that must be moved to our store room. Luckily we have one, but it is above the garage with some steep steps. Hubby will have to do that part. I just need to get some boxes for it. Then we need to find space for the study desk as I deffinitely don't want that in there. And then I have to sort out the closset. Not looking forward to sorting it all out .
