Just thought I'll write a quick message whilst M is sleeping, though I think she'll be awake soon. She is sleeping in my one arm so I can only type with one hand.......

Hope everyone is doing well and for those that were ill, I hope you all better soon.

M had her first official laugh today She has been making laugh like sounds for the last couple of weeks but today was the first time I could tell it's a proper laugh. Made her mommy very happy

I have been trying to give her tummy time but she doesn't like it much. I really do hope she learns to crawl before she learns to walk... My cousin's boys both walked before they could crawl, but I feel crawling is very important for them....

Megan did not sleep much during the day yesterday but fell asleep at around 5 and slept until 8:30, I was really worried that she wouldn't sleep last night, but she slept from 22:30 until 04:30 this morning, so I cannot complain.

I really should start expressing for when I go back to work, but I haven't been in the mood for it. I don't have much milk so I don't think I'll even get enough for 1 feed in a day. I will try and bf as much as possible whilst I can, but I have noticed that she drinks more formula by the day. (I'm hoping its because she's getting bigger and not because she's getting less milk from me)

Hi Girls

I am writing to you from Switzerland! Yes you read right. I should have been back in Miami now but what a f**k up at the airport in every way possible!!!

I got there at 4:45pm (flight at 7:25pm). When I look on the board I do not see my flight - I only see one going to Paris at 23:20. I'm now very confused as I know the Paris to JHB flight is 23:20 and now I am convinced I have my times wrong and I'm super early for the flight. BUT next to that flight it also says delayed until 02:10.

SO...I go ask an AirFrance lady where the flight is...she informs me the flight was delayed until 23:20 initially and is now further delayed until 02:10. GREAT!! Oh yes I forgot to mention that the night before I had no sleep as Matt was sick all day and night and finally at 5am I took him to Olivedale as I was worried about flying with him ill. ( he has an upper respiratory tract infection and fever kept coming back when Nurofen wore off and couldnt drink from sore throat). so he's on antibiotics and ok now.

SO...I stand in a queue to speak to someone about the fact that now that the flight is delayed, I am going to miss my flight from Paris to Miami. After an hour of standing in the queue (and Matt in the sling since I have no pram...) she tells me this is not her problem as my ticket with AirFrance is only to Paris and they are getting me to Paris. So because I am using a different airline in Paris to Miami, I must speak to them. Great. Obviously they are not going to care that my previous flight is delayed!!!

I then stand in another queue for another hour to check in my bags. At this point I have smsed DH to tell him I am not going to get to USA and smsed my mom to ask her to try sort out my flights!!!
DH couldnt get to the office as he was working in the field all day so he really couldnt do much to help. My mom couldnt get hold of anyone as the call centres were all closed since it was after 6pm. So at this point I have no idea what will happen once I am in Paris but I do know there is only 1 flight per day with American Airlines and since I am missing that flight, I will have to spend at least 1 night in Paris...

So after much backwards and forwards and me trying to remain calm with a very unhappy and sickly baby on my chest, I go to the hotel room AirFrance has accomodated us with for the delay. Matt gets to have a little sleep as do I and then back to the airport for the flight.
During this time though, my mom has now managed to get hold of American Airlines in France! They inform her that infact I am not even booked on the flight that was to depart the following day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently when we had initially enquired about changing my flights, they just removed me from the flight altogether!!!!! For me to get onto the flight the next day would cost R18 000 for the chage!! And to fly out on Friday 22 July was only R2000. So that was obviously the one I chose and therefore my mom arranged all the flights for me to fly from Paris to Switzerland until Friday.
So here I am

I have to admit though, I was looking forward to going back home. I'm fed up of travelling now. Matt and I are both sick. I have thick green phlegm coming up when I cough or blow my nose so I hope I dont re-infect Matt.

so that is all my news! sorry for no personals. I am soooooo exhausted.

Sorry been scarce, have been fighting a cold this week.

Kimika, she takes fine to formula, give her 1 bottle a day now and express for that feed so I've got a supply in the fridge. makes being babysat much easier! I dont mix it with EBM anymore, but I fine she takes it much better from other people than from me.
Yay on R's long sleep!!

Libra, Kate normally goes to "bed" around 8-9. Depending on what time she has her last nap. I hope Megan starts sleeping better again soon for you. Do you BF or bottle feed? Maybe give her a bottle in the middle of the night so she doesn't have to be moved?

Joli, how you doing? Work still as crazy? My milk is also up and down, but I'm taking mom2be shakes now and they seem to be helping the supply somewhat. Is Callum doing better? And Megan rash? Yay on the new breastpump! I must say I love mine and it works well.

Meags, when are you back? How are you doing? Do you miss Mael at all? Sorry to hear about his little incedent. Must be so hard for you to process those feelings. I agree with t he other girls though, perhaps he needs to see someone, as he does seem to come home dead drunk fairly often.

Schatsie, dont feel any guilt, I know the feeling, but end of the day the happiness of your child is the most important. You are a wonderful mother and Arno is clearly a happy little boy!

Lucy! Well done on going away and surviving! I so know that feeling of having to throw away milk, its so hard! Maybe try the Mum2be shakes for milk supply?

Well besides fighting a cold this week, We finally took Em to have her tested for allergies. I refused to go with cause I cant see my children in pain. I instead had a massage and pedi. However Em didn't cry once at all, and DH said she sang through the test! Now we wait for the results.
Last night I went out with my best friends, and my guy friend paid for me to do a body shot off of one of the sexiest men I have ever seen!! (was meant for another friend but she refused and we couldn't just leave the poor man with all that cream on him )
Thankfully school holidays are now over! But thankfully it hasn't been that hard with Em, and having Abi and Claire to help is amazing!!
Anyways, hope you all have a fab week-end, just remember moomie will be down a lot this week-end for updates My DH asks that you dont all kill him cause you cant talk to each other, its for the best.

Cath I am in JHB but leave on Saturday evening.
I tried extending my time here but couldnt chane my flight to france I could change the one from france to america so tried to go visit my mom in switzerland for a week but nothing is working out my mom tried every conceivable option but its just not meant to be I am GUTTED!!!!!

Mael said he will resign and move here if thats what I want. I do want to be here but I know its best he stays in his current job as there are just so many benefits.

Apparently he fell on Saturday night, really badly, hit his head, passed out and his friends carried him to a bed and let him sleep!!!! he woke a few hours later then they all went clubbing. he says he has a big lump on his head (still) and is still not feeling ok. I think he had concussion (although i have no sympathy and still dont see it as an excuse...)

matt is feeding so much better but the sleeping is not going well. need to get back home to our white noise machine!!!!
he has his 4 month injections next week. cant wait to know his weight and height. he has grown so much and laughs all the time - too cute!!!!!!

My DH bought me a new breastpump today - very happy mommy here. We should have just bought a new one when Callum was born! I am still planning to bf for awhile anyways (hopefully) if all goes well.

How's everyone doing? Callum will be 6 months on Monday! Sjoe can't believe it. Where is the time going??
