Libra , my gynae told me 4 breast feeds in 24 hours for the mini pill to work. I am anal so would never trust that, hee hee.
A baba in my mommy group's baby started teething at 10 weeks so anything is possible. Tessa has been drooling big time for 2 months. So I guess time will tell what it is, poor M. Hope she feels better soon.

Tazzy, I am so glad A is picking up weight nicely, how are the top up feeds at bedtime going? I find it helps a lot with Megan.

Meags, great idea to get your cousin to come and help you. It's a win-win situation for both of you. Did she agree to it?

Kimika, you really got me thinking on the whole contraceptive story. I'm also on Microval, but M isn't drinking on me as much anymore.....hopefully it will still work though My gynae told me that once I stop feeding (or not often) I must contact him and then he'll give me a script for another pill. Never asked him which one though, but I better make sure it's still save to drink whilst feeding.

MissesMom, sounds like you are going to be very busy....... Must say I love the idea about the balloons...will definitely do it with M when she is a bit older. Unfortunately all good parties are expensive these days. Don't think I will have big parties for M each year. The first 6 year and then only big birthdays...well that's what I'm saying now, will see how I feel once she'll older.

Cathm, glad you are enjoying W so much. He sounds like a sweetypie...

Lucy, I don't know much about reflux from personal experience, but two of my cousin's have babies with reflux and I've seen that it is not nice. Poor babies (and poor parents) Shame, I'm thinking of you....

Megan has been a bit miserable the last couple of days. One moment she's laughing a happy, the next moment she is crying her heart out. I really don't know what it is. I gave her buscopan and gripe water, because I think it might be tummy ache/cramps/winds...unless it's her teeth. Could it be her teeth? What are the symptoms of teeth coming in? She has been chewing her hands (and blankies) and drooling a lot. Her stomach is working like normal, but then again my niece never had bad nappies when she started teething. She is also not drinking as much as usual (formula or breast).

I feel like I have had my period since I gave birth!!!!! I basically have it every 2 weeks or so...it's driving me insane!! It started with the 5 weeks after birth, then a two week break then bleed for a week, a week or two break than bleed for a week again...and so on. (Sorry if it's too much information)

It's been really windy and cold lately (though the last day or so have been fine) I even moved Megan's cot the other night, because I was scared the palm tree next to our bedroom would blow over. I'm not too impressed with this weather we are having. I ordered a laptop from Jo'burg last week, but it's not here yet because roads are closed and the couriers can't get here!!!!! (Not my week and I am having PMS!)

Tazzy - It was lovely to meet you. Don't worry about Amelia, I just think you were super brave to come out after a jab! I totally understand. The poor guy at the coffee shop asked me if you felt you had to leave because he didn't mind. I didn't succeed at explaining that it is stressful for Mum!! I hope she has settled now.
I also did not realise that the formulas tasted different. I use Nan HA on Tessa. I believe it is very different from regular Nan which I'm told causes bad constipation in a lot of babies, so probably a good thing you've changed. Has it helped stretch things out at night?

Meags - I love that M is so long, it is great that all baba's are unique. FX that your cousin accepts. Awesome news on the weight gain and rice cereal too. Come chat here more now that you are bored!! I never have anything to read while doing my early morning BF any more !!! Hee hee

Mommies with reflux babies !!- I am at my wits end. Tessa has now been on the losec for about 3 or 4 weeks. Initially her possetting almost went away, but for the last week it is as bad as before. I am wondering why I am giving her drugs if it is doing nothing. Is this your experience or have you found that it has stayed improved? It doesn't seem to upset her too much but then like last night she screamed everytime I tried to latch her (after possetting up the first boob) but I could see she was hungry. Eventually I bathed her and then she latched fine. I wonder if it wasn't due to pain .... it was a pain cry. (there is no face with a sticking out bottom lip ... like Tessa does! ha ha)

Hi guys! I’ve been reading and trying to keep up but time is so limited and work is beyond HECTIC! William is doing soooo well I can’t stop staring at him and playing with him LOL!  His routine works nicely in that we spend time together from usually 6am (like clockwork!) then by the time I leave for work the nanny is here, he’s bathed and he’s having his first nap. I try and get home by 6pm when he is usually either having a little sleep or soon to be awake for his last stretch before bed at 8/9. He is still sleeping through and LOVING his toys and making a noise and shouting and laughing (!!!) he is utterly fascinating and beautiful!! He even held a book with both his hands and my dh and I are totally in love with him! Love to everyone!!! Cathm xxx

Kimika, we're doing a long week-end in 2 weeks with the girls, and then a big holiday in November. I wonder how it will go with the girls.
Ya, I've actually not even bothering with contraceptives. I'm going to have my tubes tied at some point, but for now will just stick to condoms.

Tazzy, how did the sleep go with the top up? Strangely I find that Kate sleeps better after a breastfeed not a formula one??

Kimika, I keep Kate with me while we watch movies, she sleeps all the time, but easier to calm her if she fusses instead of having to stop the movies and her wake up properly.

Lucy, glad you liked toptots. I've got the baby gym instructor coming to the house each week now to teach our nanny how to do the techniques as well.

Well almost the party! I'm so glad everything is totally sorted! Paid a bloody fortune for it, but I know it'll be perfect!
Then her birthday itself is monday, she gets to go to school in civies, I've arranged for party packs and cupcakes for all the children. I'm also going to get a ton of those foil helium balloons and tie one to each of her pressies and put into her room while she's asleep. Think will be nice for her to wake up to.
Then just having an open house for tea and cakes during the day.
Then need to focus on Kates Christening and my sisiters hen party. Also busy planning DH's 30.

Meags, yay on getting your cousin over to help! Sounds like bliss And a great bonus is that it is someone you can trust hey Great that his weight is doing so well now! And cute that he loves his porraige.. Im giving R 3tsp at a time now at about 10:30 and then he gets about 3-4tsp butternut at about 17:00. I dont want to increase it for now.. I need him to do his milk feeds for now and Im sure if I give him more he will slow down milkfeeds. Ill give him a 3rd (lunch) meal when he is past 6 months, and then just do another 3tsp for that feed.

Tazzy, aww did you and Lucy meet today?? Lucky girls I wanted to say because I remember one of you asking.. we never went along on the Ballito holiday trip.. not because of the kids but because if we went we wouldve only managed to get away for a long weekend and the flights were hecticly expensive. I soo not want to do a car trip with the boys for now so we decided to skip it alltogether. Maybe in Dec?
I hope she sleeps well tonight! Let me know how it goes. I gave R a top up 75ml at about 14:00 today, he does seem hungry all of a sudden, hasnt refused or pulled away in 2 days now??!! Cant say Im missing that! Im going to wait it out and see if he gets over it within a day or so, then I know it was a growth spurt. But I have a bottle handy now.. will top him up again if he wakes up now.. he has only woken up once again tonight to feed. Last night was terrible!! (again).. so we will see what tonight and tomorrow brings

Im so annoyed with this whole contraceptive issue.. really dont know what to do. Thats why I dont mind if R feeds every 2 or 3 hrs, Im sure then the Microval will do the job.

Anyway, let me go zzzzzzzzzzz I need to be on the road by 8 tomorrow morning, going to visit my SIL in Rustenburg who had her baby today! Yay Cant wait to cuddle him!

Hi girls

Well I took a big step. I have asked my cousin to come live in with us until December to help me care for Matthieu!! Bit of a luxury...and kind of think its more about me having some company than someone to help with Matt...but anyway.
We will pay for her return flight and give her a salary of R4000 per month. She will work 5 days per week from 7am-7pm (yay I can sleep late in the mornings!!!!!!!!!!) and cook dinner for us (YAY). - she is 41 years old so not like getting someone my age but she doesnt have a job (has never really had one....lives with her dad...) so its a nice opportunity for her even if its only temporary. but now I will have the time to exercise (oh joy...) and clean the house and get a massage!!!!!!

Matt has his injections today - he was quite ok about it. cried for about a minute then smiled at the reception lady and went to sleep when we got home. He is 17 weeks (4 months) and weighs 6.5kg, 65cm in length and 40cm head circumference. he is now on the 75th percentile for length and FINALLY heading towards 50th percentile for weight. Paed said not to start solids until 6 months due to the allergies but since he has the rice cereal in his milk I am just going to continue giving it to him as a porridge once a day. he loves it so much.
How much do you feed your babies? I gave Matt 2 teaspoons and he keeps opening his mouth and leaning forward to the spoon for more. he is very enthusiastic about eating!!! still not so much about drinking though but we're getting there. some days he only drinks 100ml then suddenly he drinks 250ml?! so I just feed him as he wants.

Feeling a bit bored already being back so will be nice if my cousin accepts the job here (which I'm sure she will). DH's friend is arriving tomorrow...he will be here 6 nights. Bit worried what he's going to do all day as he is not hiring a car and DH is working...I refuse to make this my problem. I am going to keep myself busy doing other things!!!

Kimika hope R sleeps better for you tonight. Matt has jet lag he fed around midnight as usual. then woke at 2:40am, 3:40am and finally wide awake at 5:10am...i was not impressed. so tired today.

Libra Matt is going to be bilingual. I speak english to him and DH speaks french to him. And yes they do often speak later than other kids and get the languages mixed up initially. But usually by 3 years old they can differentiate the languages quite well
