Jessica I accepted you. I think siblings know what is in your tummy....so the fact he said boetie sounds like a sign to me but I hope you get confirmation on Monday. There are a few of us going on Monday. What time is your appointment? Mine is at 2:30pm but she is always late so I dont expect I'll be seen until 3:30pm.

Lucy, I simply cannot tell her no to the tea party. We have been organising this close to a month now and I just dont have the heart. I think I will just talk to the mom to be afterwards and explain the tea party!!! She is very laid back and I'm sure she'll be happy that we allowed this other friend to do what she wanted if it made her feel better.
I do feel so sorry for her Her heart must be very sore at the moment with all the babies and baby showers.

Kimika - I also had such a laugh over the nipple. I could see what was on your mind. Maybe the diet is too extreme for you. Perhaps if you "allow" yourself a certain number of biscuits (like half what you normally have) then it will be better even if not perfect. I am all about moderation!

Meags - That is tough situation. I have had an MC and I most certainly would not have wanted to be involved in organising a baby shower. I was happy to attend, although I hid behind my camera and had a huge sob when I got home. I would say your friend is just being a prima donna. Maybe let her run with the party favours but tackle her on the tea party. Be nice but talk from the Mom to be's perspective and explain that you don't think she'll like that! Tough one ..... good luck!

Joli - That is such a sweet story about Megan. So precious!

Kaylae - Yikes! No shopping. Is it a religious thing? I know some Hindu religions believe that? Good luck with the will power.

Tazzy - If you are ever in Durbs I have found out about some second hand baby stores, one that has very good stuff! Although I guess you have most of the basics already.

Karen- I have not done the PMB form yet. I am on discovery and my gynae said I must wait for 12 weeks. But I am not sure if he is right?! I have no savings left so I wish I could get my 12 week paid as I think it is a little pricey with the downs tests and bloods! Eek a needle ..... again. Grrrrr!

EmsMom - Glad you have perked up a bit. Scans are stressful! I think sometimes that ignorance is bliss.

To answer the question earlier about tiredness - yes it usually eases off by the 2nd trimester but the 1st 3 months are tough cause you're ALWAYS exhausted - if its really bad (which it usually is!) then go get yourself some Superdyn (the yellow box fizzy tabs) they're safe to use during pregnancy (I'm sure its the yellow box & not the green box - but just check)

On the MS - sorry can't help you there I didn't get MS with my first pregnancy nor with this one.

I can't wait for my scan on monday.....hopefully we can see the sex. But my son came up to me this morning while I was getting dressed & patted my stomach and said "boetie". mmmm could that be a sign?

oh I also wanted to say...
I feel so bad but I need to vent!
There were 3 friends from varsity all pregnant differing by 2-3 months. So the one gave birth last week, the other is due in October and the other was due in December.

So the one in October, we are holding her baby shower next week.
The one in December had a MC at 8 weeks along. But she wanted to help plan the baby shower for next week.

so her and I are arranging it. but she is a bit weird and she has these bizarre ideas of what she wants to do and it really is something that suits HER rather than what suits the Mom to be.

She wants to have a tea party...with little tea cups and tea pots....The mom to be is expecting a boy and grew up on a farm, is very out doorsy and not girly....

so ya...I didnt have the heart to say no, as I know this time is difficult for her...she now emailed me to ask what colour paper plates I am buying because she wants to give out thank you gifts to each person and wants to know what colour ribbon to buy to tie the bags closed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
she's a bit obsessed....and i really think favours are unneccessary...it's not a wedding.

sigh....sorry....just had to vent!!!
also, the guests are a little horrified about the 'tea party' idea...
