GML - Wow on graduating AND becoming a mommy in one year!!! Thats an accomplishment!

I agree with you, I think she should have him checked out by an Occupational Therapist or Play therapist. Good luck on stirring up that subject with a friend - has cost me a friendship in the past! It's a very sensitive subject. I would not offer any possible diagnosis, but just make a friendly recommendation, especially if she asks for help!

Trying to make a ticker for my profile - seems like it is NOT so easy... or am I missing something???? Help.

barbs- I had forgotten thats what you do.

I have a friend who has a boy who just turned 2. The boy will sing songs (even though the words arent correct) and he will sing along to the takalani sesame songs etc BUT he does not talk.

he doesnt say hello, mama or anything like that. When he is busy drinking from his bottle and whatever he is drinking is finished, he wont just give the bottle to mommy but will throw and it normally hits the wall or comes crashing down.
Is there something wrong with this child. He seems to be ok with everything but when a screw goes loose he will just go crazy. what do you think. I studied a bit of child psychology and I'm a bit worried about this child.

Ladies
Last night I got my graduation information and tickets included. I cannot believe it. I'm so excited now. I also read that I have to kneel on stage  :(
I wonder if I will manage.

Morning!!!!
Can't believe my government-computer is allowing me internet access for 3 days in a row now without interruptions!!! Usually we're one day on, one day off. Better enjoy it while it lasts!

Welcome Clay - ask all those questions, the best way is to learn from each other!

GML - hahaha!!! Also did the shaving thing last night, Oi!!! Seems like the best place to do so is in the shower. Impossible to shave my left leg with my right hand without getting myself in a knot and drowning! Have you tried doing your toe-nails..... :woohoo: Hubby promised to help with the shaving next time, and booked me a pedi for the feet!

Maryke - thanks for the citro-soda advice. I think I got my first heartburn episode yesterday.... Not too bad, but unmistakenly! And that after an innocent chicken salad!

For the past few days, I've been feeling most kicks low down in my belly, almost as if the baby is jumping on my bladder. Funny sensation. But lastweek it was mostly around my belly button. I think Im having a little "nag-apie" (bushbaby) because the moment I get into bed after a bath, he/she goes CRAZY!!! Sometimes you can even see my belly moving from side to side. I love it.

I love your names - especially the Mischke-Mari combination. We're also playing around with family names, trying to make them sound a little less Voortrekker-ish! For a girl we're using my mother's name Jurina and making it Inè. For a girl we'll use a name from each grandpa (Jakobus Johannes) and call him Jannes. ( I also dreamed about 3 years ago that I got a boy named Jannes...)

Tanya - About the lower back pain... Something that really works is Arnica Massage Gel. Let hubby rub your back and then lie down with a hot beanbag on the sore parts. You can also bath with 3 - 4 drops Arnica oil in the water. Does wonders!!!

I'm just busy compiling a developmental milestones stimulation programme for my patients - I see so many babies each week with delayed milestones. So we're trying to raise awareness around the importance of stimulation and early detection of problems. Quite a daunting task when taking into acount that none of these babies have the luxury of Fisher Price toys and educated parents! But I'm getting so excited to hold my own little one and play with him and teach him things and see him develop (or her, of course)! Such an exciting time waiting on us - especially the first-time moms under us!

Well, let me get back to work!~

Welcome Clay.

WE do our best with answering questions.

Please tell us more about yourself. I'm guessing you're having a BOY?

Where are you from etc.

Pain relief. This is an option that I'm still exploring. I think Ante natal classes will help with regards to making a decision. I want to hear about all options available to me first then will decide.

Bare in mind that not everyone pain threshold is the same. Some people handle pain better than others. Will you be attending any ante natal classes?

Hi

I'm a first time mama, due around the 16th of December. My friend said i should join Moomie as its helpful if you have any questions and stuff.

I'm petrified of needles and drugs and stuff so I am vehemently opposed to the epidural... My mom says she had both my brother and I without ANY pain relief, as did a friend of mine. Am I crazy to want to have my baby without drugs?

Morning Ladies

Hope you're all doing well.

Champers- My EDD is still 8 December, however my calculations say 30 November. The scan (based on the size of the baby) says 8 December.

Please take pics of the nursery when it's complete. Cant wait to see what you've done.

September means 3rd TRIMESTER. Almost there ladies.

Ladies- I just noticed last night tat I cannot see my privates anymore. Shaving my legs was a mission. Had to ask hubby to help out. Oh, he enjoyed doing that
Where are you ladies feeling those kicks the most? I feel them at my belly button. Havent had those Rib jabs yet. I'm guessing this could mean baby has his head up hence the kicks at the bottom.
