waking toddler while sleeping....?

I guess I should also consider myself lucky than, coz my lb will nap anywhere. I just have to make sure that I have his dudu (dummy & blanket) with.

I also avoid going out too late at night, coz my lb is an early bird. He is in bed by 7pm latest. If I do go out at night for Supper or a function, than I just make sure that lb has had supper, had a bath & is comfy. Than usually on our way back home, lb falls asleep in the car.

Tess.... You are soooo right! Sometimes if we are going somewhere after lb's nap, I find that he sleeps for sooo long, than I have to sit & wait for him to wake up. Other times I think while lb naps, I will shower, wash & set my hair & than cook. But that day lb will decide to sleep for 30 mins, lol

Oh and lb is such a mommies boy! He will rather put a little chair in the bathroom and watch me shower, than go play with dh....

Does anyone else find that their LO's will either over- or under-sleep depending on what you need to do, eg, if you plan to meet people after LO's nap, he/she will sleep an extra hour, or if you want LO to have a long nap so they can stay up a bit later, it will be a 40 winks kinda nap. I just can't win

That is very true gloeiwurmpie! Luckily I have understanding for that kind of thing. My one friend also have a very difficult LB (he is a couple of weeks older than my LG). He also dont do well out of his own environment (but I think in her case lots of it is self inflicted!) We mostly go there to visit and I have compassion for her situation! She says she is only taking him somewhere when he is 18!!

Joli: We also dont take LG to drinking smoking parties! Me and DH will not have LG in the car even if he had only 2 drinks! Then she also goes to granny or my aunt.
And an evening party at a restaurant is also a big no! Nowhere to set up the campcot!

Must say at our age the parties did calm down A LOT!

Jodon dylan is the same. Campcot and bedding and off we go. He goes down a little later but no hassles with noise etc. Not that we go to hectic parties.

We don't have much of a social life. It's getting better now that Megan is getting older. I also don't take my kids to someone else's house where there's drinking and partying going on (I've got my reasons). If we have a party at our house and the kids are there, we have a babysitter there, otherwise the kids will go to my MIL.

When Kayla was little and I was still single etc. (I used to party a lot before she was born), I did try to go out with her, but she just wouldn't sleep and I would spend the whole night in a room, trying to get her to sleep anyways.

I've also learned not to give people a time. And no I don't wake them up, unless they've been sleeping for like 2 hours. I'm not going to go to an event and sit with a 'misluk' child just so I can make someone else happy.

I hate seeing mothers at restaurants at 8 at night, trying to get the baby to calm down while the rest of the party is having a good time.

I think this is the problem, some babies really adjust well to change and others don't.
The people who can take their kids anywhere anytime often expect other parents to be able to do the same.
