BD, I had 2 MC's and after the first I was ok, because it happens, but after the second I blamed myself for it, I thought that maybe it was something I ate or did or didn't do. I resigned at work and got another job, I started to gym, I ate healthy foods etc. etc. and approximately 8 months later my hubby said we should try again, but he insisted on seeing a specialist, we went to Dr. Pentz (a fertility specialist), who said 2 MC's is normal, that 1 in 4 woman have 2 MC's before a successful pregnancy, BUT he will help us. He did a scan, said that I wasn't ovulating, did a couple of tests and we went the fertomid route.
It worked first time round, we went for our first scan at 8 weeks and that afternoon I started with the bleeding, phoned him immediately and he did another scan and an internal check and confirmed a threatened miscarriage (I was devastated), he prescribed 6 utrogestan (progesterone) pills a day and that seemed to do the trick, it was however still stressful for us every single day until approximately 16 weeks and even some days afterwards. I am now 35 weeks and I believe Dr Pentz was sent on our path for a reason, because I had the same pills with the previous MC's in a lower dosage.
But looking back, I realise that my life was just too hectic for a baby at that stage and I believe that everything happens for a reason. This baby is here at the right time and not to make this a religious thing, but I believe prayer carried me through the first 16 - 20 weeks. As a friend said the other day, there were so many people praying for this baby that my guardian angel was praying for a break.
I think the most important is not too blame yourself and do not hold your feelings in, I did that and it made me a constantly angry and unapproachable person. Cry and shout when you need to. My husband was very supportive and that helped a lot.
Good luck with your journey, I am sure you will have your success story as well and don’t give up.
