A friend told me about a specialist in Sandton that does acupuncture to assist with fertility.. apparently 2 of her friends couldn't fall pregnant after IVF's and with this method they have..

Have any of you heard of this before?

For now I keep a diary of this journey.

The doctor said my chances are 70% to conceive with this first round and the plan is to do this for 3 months then the doc will change over to injections.

The last 3 days I have had slight abdominal pain, feeling like my period is going to start so I believe something is happening inside I actually get excited when it happens.

Saving is a priority right now... I really don't want to go down the IVF road but only time will tell.

Everyone is different but what helped me was having a plan of action.

I knew I would try x number of medicated cycles before trying x number of IUI (artificial inseminations). IVF with my own eggs wasn't an option and I didn't want to use donor eggs (ironic as I am in the industry now).

A plan of action means that you need to do some financial planning as fertility treatment costs lots of money and this way you can at least say you have tried everything at least once or twice.

If you know the next step ahead of time, it keeps the hope alive.

For you the main thing is getting you to ovulate. I recon if the meds work then you should be fine. Most women who ovulate after using meds fall pregnant within 3-home cycles.
