Sterretjie,
I think it's a positive. light because the Hcg hormone is still low. Try again FMU is normally more concentrated. did you keep the test? Can you post a pic?
Exciting!!!!

Hi Gloei
The line was the same colour (light) pink as the control line (dark pink) - I have googled a bit this morning and as far as I can gather if the line is a different colour it could be seen as a evaporation line but if it is the same colour it could be that it is positive. I am definately doing the second test tomorrow morning - but currently I feel like running down to the chemist and buy another test.

Hi sterretjie!!

How frustrating!! I have been tempted to check "out of the time limit" tests too. What I have read is not to look at the results after the time limit is over. As far as what I can gather is that is possibly an evaporation line....

Causes of evaporation lines
Evaporation lines are more commonly seen when a pregnancy test is read outside of the allowable time limit. Every pregnancy test contains instructions regarding how soon results should be read, as well as how long the results are accurate for. Results after this maximum time allowance should be disregarded and a new test should be performed. Additionally, the chemistry of the woman's urine may cause an evaporation line as some women seem to experience these lines more than others.

If I were you I would use the second test either today or tomorow morning again...
Was the line the same colour as the control line? Meaning was it a light shade of pink or was it grayish or another shade?

Morning all

Carmen - sorry to hear - thinking of you.

I need advice please - I bought 2 HPT yesterday on my way home. Got home and did tried the one - turn out negative. I was quite depressed about it. This morning I wanted to through the test out before somebody sees it - 2 LINES?????????? Could it be that I am pregnant or could it be a evaporation line?
