Hi All

Hope you are all doing well! Went to Doctor Gideon Van Zyl at Panarama Medi Clinic yesterday. He did a full check up and has announced that everything is A-okay, and that I just need to have a little patience while I wait for my hormones to stabilize. Easier said than done! This is the fourth month already! I wanted to be preggers already!

Regarding the opk's: I got positive results (smiley face) but in fact blood tests showed I wasn't ovulating. They measure the LH hormone that says you are going to ovulate, not that you have indeed ovulated. In hindsight the kits just gave me false hope so I am so glad I went and had a check up at my gynae to be sure. Good idea to get everything checked out before using them. Wish I had done that first.

I can't express how encouraged I've been by the comments in this thread.

I went off the pill last year Nov, and my cycle has been bananas since then; when I do menstruate it's only for a couple days. And I'm not even sure I'm ovulating - none of the tell-tale signs :(

@Sugar-and-Spice, I've also tested neg (Clearblue) after a week of no period, and it's driving me nuts. So thanks for your comments, it's good to know I'm not alone.

I have an appointment with Dr Kate Richardson at Vincent Palotti on Monday so hopefully she can shed some light on why my body is being so tricky. Only thing is, 1st consultation is so expensive, and I'm on Bonitas. They only fully cover their preferred network of docs, none of which are female. (Western Cape)

I am just going in circles in my head with this stuff :/

Married for 5 years :*

Thanks Sugar-and-Spice!
I'm in Joburg - we're visiting friends in CT in March and hopefully the break and sea air will do us some good.
The ovulation kit has been helpful but I do feel that I want to see the doctor just so I know it's all ok
Can't wait to start the "From TTC to Pregnant" Forum with you all

Hi CeeBee! Welcome to our little chat! Yes i agree! We are probably doing more harm to our bodies than good than stressing like this! Are you in CT? I know what you mean about period days! We cant help but being s incredibly disappointed! I have also bought ovulation kit. I will start using them after the gynae appointment. I just want to hear that everything is A-okay! Hope you are all doing well and that we can start an "Im pregnant!" foum soon! hehehe!
