file Trying to Conceive - Lets talk

12 years 8 months ago #246416 by wannabepreggy
Irregular periods are so frustrating! But then I have read about women with regular cycles struggling to get pregnant and I read of one woman who had only two periods a year getting pregnant. So who knows! Its not an exact science so I keep trying to be positive! I find keeping myself constantly occupied helps keep things off my mind. Although I am very obsessive by nature  two weeks to go til my follow up gynae appt.

Hi Ladies,

I've been married for two and a bit years, been ttc since July last year. Been off the pill for about as long as we've been married but used condoms as protection. I have no kids (yet) ;) and I am currently working on my weight issue as my gynae (Dr Sangita Dalla - Cape Gate Medi Clinic) advised that if I don't watch my weight I could develop PCOS which scared the Bejezel out of me. Needless to say her warning only shocked me for like two months and after that I was eating unhealthy again. I've now been to a dietitian and the plan is working out nicely Xfingers crossedX for a good weight loss this month.

I've always had irregular periods, my first period was when I was 10 years old and I'm now 30....yes 20 years of AF! Scary though as "google" says females are born with a certain amount of eggs that can never be increased BUT I'm staying positive! :)

I've posted on the "Anyone else trying for a 2014 baby?" post as there are lots of women who are trying for baby no. 1,2,3 - so pop in and have a read when you have a chance.

Being on the forum made me more aware of what's happening and gave me access to information, the support is immeasurable!

Sorry for the long post.

Will check back soon

Me too! Without these little chats i would have been pulling my hair out already! My hubby is in the same boat! Its hilarious! I gave him a bunch of articles to read and a loooong list of things he can no longer do while we are trying to conceive. I still haven't gotten my period. Its now about 7 days - took another test yesterday and it was still negative. The terrible thing I have no idea if my cycle is regular or not. So i am working on a 28 day cycle but i could have like a 37 day cycle! Which means i might not even be late!! Aaarrgggh! This is all giving me a headache! I promised myself i wouldn't drive myself crazy with all of this! But it looks like its easier said than done!

Baby Dust to all!!

Haha! Im just glad I found this website. I did two pregnancy tests on the weekend and they were both negative. So my period is now three weeks late. Im like "whatever". Just trying to relax and have fun and have a sense of humour through all of this. I have only had one period since coming off yasmin in October. I am banning myself from Google. My poor husband is ready to kill me  I keep bombarding him with all these facts and info! Poor guy is going crazy! Google just makes me worry more cos I seem to find all the worst case scenarios there! Im sorry about your test :( holding thumbs that all of us here get pregnant soon! One of my good friends has been struggling to get pregnant with her second one and we have had a few good laughs about how we wil rip the other one's hair out if we one of us gets pregnant before the other  I find it helps to have a good laugh (and cry!) every so often B)

Oh wannabepreggy! You have truly made my day!! Its nice to have someone else in the same boat as you! I started spotting Friday and Saturday (24th and 25th Jan), and i was only supposed to get my period 29th. Against my better judgement i googled, and they said that it could be implantation bleeding. I was over the moon. I got even more excited when i didnt get my period. Tested on the 30th, the day after my missed period and got a big fat negative! Was completely heart broken. I dunno what's up though, maybe my body is still weird from the pill. I was convinced that everything would be normal though, because i already got an actual period since being off the pill! I am going to wait a week. If I still havent gotten my period by then, I will try to pluck up the courage to do another test.

Nope, I dont have cholesterol.

Addy how you doing?

Hi. Yes that sounds about right. I booked my Jan appt in November already. I think they will see you sooner in an emergency but a normal check up is a bit of a long wait. I see it as he is a good doctor and lots of people want to see him :P I'm going back on the 20th of Feb. This is going to be the longest 3 weeks ever :( I can't wait to get all my blood test results and go over everything with the doc to make sure that my hormones are all normal. Well, what defines normal anyways? I still haven't had my period. Too scared to do a pregnancy test, they are ALWAYS disappointing in my case. But a bit hopeful cos last time a did a clearblu ovulation test and it was positive (9th Dec), I got my period exactly 2 weeks later (first one since I came off Yasmin at the end of October) and when I had the progesterone test on CD21 the nurse who phoned back said it was "perfect" and I asked her "so I am ovulating?" and she said "yes" so in theory I should have gotten my period on the 28th, right? Sometimes I obsess and get all these crazy thoughts in my head like maybe she phoned me by mistake or it was all just a dream or my progesterone was fine but not the other hormones  Crazy I know! Still trying to pluck up the courage to pee on a stick! Anyone else on this forum with high cholesterol? (The genetic one)

Chat soon
