Hi RCR84
Yeah, I think that's the case for a few women. We stress so much that we end up shooting ourselves in the foot!! Also hoping you go back to a normal cycle and that blood tests done are going to show that all is well.
Sorry I've been absent so long. It's been a stress filled week for me. Had to have that hsg procedure last week Monday (the procedure itself didn't hurt but OMW, an hour or so later I thought I was going to pass out!) Anyway, handed in the test results at my gynae's office on Tuesday last week and then...nothing.
Waited and waited and waited. Called 5 times (yes, FIVE times) before I FINALLY really stripped my m@#r this morning and told the receptionist that I expect the Dr to call me TODAY.
About 2 hours later, the receptionist calls and says that I must please come in. Dr wants to see me as she doesn't want to discuss the results over the phone. I nearly burst into tears thinking, 'OK, she's going to tell me that it's bad news.'
I rush to her office, go in and see her and she tells me that it's more good news than bad news. She says that on the x-rays taken during the hsg procedure, it shows that the right fallopian tube is blocked and that there's a narrowing in the left but it is open.
This is a problem and she wants me to go see her again between day 12 & 15 of next cycle so she can see if the eggs are big enough (MUST be 1.8cm at least otherwise they are worthless for conception) and wants to give me hcg injection to stimulate egg release (provided they are big enough).
If the eggs aren't big enough, I'm going to have to be given hormones to induce growth etc and then hcg injection to promote release.
Now, I have heard that this may cause multiple births. Seriously, not a problem for me. The way I figure it, have two (or three) now and then that's it!
She also said that my blood work done on the 6th October, looks good. Thyroid is nicely back in check, my sugar is bordering but she said not to worry about that yet as it isn't a factor. Should it go down / up some more, then we might have a problem.
Husband's semen analysis also came back. 'All good,' she said, 'A grade.' Which is awesome!!! It means that it's just me with a few glitches to fix.
If the above doesn't work for 2 - 3 cycles, then the only other option open for us is artificial insemination. Having said that, she said that the hsg procedure can cause women to become pregnant at a later stage (like 2 months later) because the fluid that's pushed through the tubes 'clears them out' making conception easier. I REALLY hope that's the case with us.
Wow, ok. That's my story for the past week. Was an emotional one, I can tell you that! It's the uncertainty and the frustration of being told that the Dr will call you and then not being called. Dr also told me that she DID tell the receptionists to call me and arrange that I come see her today but it never happened. I then told her that no-one called me. If they had, I wouldn't have called 5 times to get some feedback.
Ah well, it's as someone else also said, receptionists are part of the package. Sometimes you get really nice, friendly, helpful ones (like my gynae's other receptionist based at her head office) and then you get crappy ones (like the one I had to deal with).
Hoping everything is going great for you and that soon, we'll get our BFP!
