question-circle First Fertomid Cycle, New Here

11 years 9 months ago #255009 by Morgan55
Thanks TCS

I'm also leaning more to IUI because that's what gynae suggested when we started using fertomid. That we do fertomid for a month or two and if that doesn't work IUI.

Was also thinking we should get a second opinion by a fertility specialist and hear what they have to say. It just seems like admitting that there is something drastically wrong if I go to FS.

Ah well. We'll see.

How are you feeling? Hope everything is still in order there by you!!

Hi Morgan,

I will be honest and say that if i were in your shoes i would probably go straight to IUI. do a few rounds then move onto IVF and last try homeopath..

I know the IUI and IVF are far more invasive but the homeopath is twice as expensive as the IUI....

perhaps maybe do IUI then homeo then IVF as the last resort..

i also think perhaps you should seek the services of a fertility specialist instead of ob/gyn?

I have a feeling that IUI will prob work and you wont need the IVF... :) im just being extra positive for you!!!

Good Morning ladies

How is everyone this morning? Hope you guys are doing better.

I have a question to ask you guys.

You see, hubby and I have 4 potential options to getting a BFP and they are as follows:

Going to see a homeopath

Buying Felopio from America

IUI

IVF

Now, positive ratings for the homeopath and Felopio are that they are all natural products (a very positive thing for us as we want to do everything as natural as possible)

Negative rating on the homeopath because it will lengthen the ttc process and honestly, I don't know how many more BFN's I can take.

Negative rating on the Felopio (designed specifically for blocked fallopian tubes) in that it costs R10 000.00 and that's for a 30 day period only. Should it take longer to get the exact results, it's another R10 000.00 a month or so.

As for the IUI - NO guarantee there that it will work because the one remaining tube is iffy. Positive side is that should it work, it'll be within a month or 2. Negative side is that it'll cost at least R5 000.00 per month

IVF is an emotional rollercoaster and it'll cost at least R35 000.00 a month. Also NO guarantee that it'll work in the first month.

Ladies, I'm at a terrible crossroads here. I don't know what to do at all. Hubby and I have discussed our options and have decided to put everything on hold for a month or 2. After that, we'll probably go back to gynae and hear what she thinks, what her HONEST opinion is.

Ladies, lots of love to you guys.

xx

Cynthia thinking of you xxxxx Last year I went for a sonar at 8weeks, all was well and on 10weeks I lost the bub. She must have stopped growing right after the sonar. My heart was shatterred. Tests came back, no chromosomal abnirmalities and basically inconclusive. A little girl. Sometimes something jyst does not develop right and it is hard to understand why.

Cry you heart out. Fall to pieces if you must. For the men the reality has not kicked in, they had no hormonal changes. And people treat loss diffrently. If hubby tells you to be strong, its because he loves you and hate to see you sad.

Thinking of you xxxx

Cynthia
You rant and rave. You yell and scream. Don't let anyone tell you not to.
We're here to support each other. I really think that this forum does keep us sane. Just to be able to talk to other women going through similar struggles helps infinitly.
I had my breakdown yesterday and let it out here (on another thread though) so, you rant and don't feel bad about it AT ALL!!

Lots of love
xx
