I am doing well today.. feel 100% except for the bloating. i look pregnant and i am wearing my maternity jeans as the normal is to snug on the waist. worried it will squash the bean... lol

Hope everyone is doing well!!

Hey girls

Morgan...We did IUI and it worked, FIRST TIME! It cost us just under R5000, meds included. It's not invasive at all...it's like a pap smear, but quicker.

AFM, I am 8 weeks today. Went for 1st ultrasound yesterday and heard our baby's little heartbeat!! Baby is measuring just right and heartbeat is normal. Next ultrasound will be 9 Feb and then we will "graduate" from the fertility clinic and go to a normal ob/gyn. It finally feels real!!

Betti

DH: Severe male factor

Unsuccesfully tried for DS 3 yrs before...

Secretly did 1st IUI in December 2014 cycle with 25mg Fertomid Day 3-7 to ensure good quality ovulation and egg(s).

Thanks HoopVirDieBeste!!

Wow! Thanks for sharing. I'm feeling excited now about the whole procedure. Will definitely be looking into it now.
I was on fertomid tablets in December CD 5 -9 (1 large egg, trigger shot given)
Jan also Fertomid CD5 - 9 but didn't go for trigger shot. I felt myself ovulate a few times so...

The Fertomid does work for me but we'll see what Dr / Gynae / FS orders.

Hi All,

Morgan, we are currently trying IUI, well our second attempt, the first one done was November 2014 (the drugs used were 5 Femara Tabs, 3 Menopur Injections and then Ovidrel),... was unsuccessful. We only managed to get 1 mature egg. We started again in January this time with 3 Fertomid Tabs, 2 Menopur Injections and then Ovidrel, this time we were lucky and got 3 beautifull mature eggs, insemination happend on Saturday. We are now in the 2ww period, blood test to happen on the 8th. For both sessions some progesterone tablets were prescribed which I need to drink twice a day till blood test.

It is really not an invasive procedure and is relatively cheap (First session less than R5000 and second session less than R4000)

My FS is Dr Pentz at Kloof and is brilliant! Love him to peaces!

Hi Meisiekind

Thanks a lot for the advice. Hubby and I discussed things last night and we're getting a second opinion and then IUI should that be suggested again.

Hope all goes well for today and that everything will be fine.

Lots of love.

Hi ladies

Looks like you've been chatting up a storm. :)

Morgan, I'm probably a bit late, but just wanted to say that I agree with the others. Give IUI a try. However I'd also recommend that you see a fertility specialist before you do IUI. It really was the best thing that I could have done. My gynae referred me after 3 months on Fertomid, so its more common than you think. And a 2nd opinion really can't hurt. I've seen here on the forum of people who go for a 2nd opinion and then get a completely different view on the situation.

And I totally agree that taking a bit of a break from TTC will help put things into perspective.

TCS, sorry to hear about the headaches etc, but glad to hear that all is going well. :)

Cynthia, hope you are doing better. Thinking of you.

I'll check back in some time after my laparoscopy and hystroscopy tomorrow. Don't really know what to expect, so just taking it one day at a time.

Have a nice week ladies :)
