Yeah tomorrow will tell you if you did ovulate.

I was just like you the first time around but honeslty, i have a sense of excitement about all this now... i think the worry is worse than the excitement?

The sooner you know the result of the progesterone the better, because then you can start the treatment to bring on AF and then start round 2..

So dont worry Cynthia! i know its easier said than done.. But try...

At least your progesterone levels are being monitored... Thats a great thing..

Are you on 100mg or 50mg?

It's like you guys said, knowing the problem is half the solution and also, the pressure we put on ourselves. It makes things so much more difficult but it's so hard not to live your life 2 weeks at a time from AF to ovulation and ovulation back to AF.

I think another huge problem is also that we get the timing wrong. It has been suggested that we start day 8 and then every second day till day 12 where after every day till day 15 then again every second day till day 21.

Honestly, whatever it takes is what I say. Hahaha!!

Me - 31
DH - 34

HI Cynthia

That sounds alot like me. Long cycles which showed i was not ovulating. each time my Doc prescribed 10 days of Provera to kickstart it.
I did a progesterone test on CD22 to confirm i did not ovulate last cycle. So now im on another course of provera (on day 9 at the moment) and then i will be taking 100mg Fertomid from CD3 to CD7. i will go in again for another progesterone test to check if i ovulated., If i didnt the dose will be increased.
My Dr said i must not be disappointed if the fertomid does not work the first time around as it is basically a trial to see how much i will need to ovulate... He also did not want to over prescribe as the chance of multiple pregnancies can occur. The fertomid can cause you to release more than 1 egg.

Keep the Faith. If this is not your month, next month will be if he ups the dosage...

Hey DieSwartKat,

The 62 day cycle is what made him realise I wasnt ovulating and it was somewhat unusual or maybe because I wasnt trying to concieve I never really cared how long the cycles were before. I am usually on 33-35 day cycles. He put me on Primolut N to bring on the period then started me on Fertomid from day 4 of that cycle. What worries me now is if I didnt ovulate again I will need another kickstart?

I hope I m just pregnant first time around.......just hoping against hope.

Has your doc not suggested giving you some meds to shorten your cycle? I remember being on something like that (Duphaston), before starting my fertomid cycle. It's basically progesterone, and helps bring on a period in cases of irregularity. Once my cycles became 30-ish days (took 2 or 3 months), we worked on the fertility.

Ovulation normally occurs 14 - 18 days before the start of AF, so if your cycle is 62 days and you are on day 32 now, then ovulation probably hasn't occurred yet.

Was the 62-day cycle unusual for you, or do you normally have lengthy cycles?
