Morning girls
I have some news - Please tell me that I don't have any reason to freak out?!?
I went to my gynae yesterday for my yearly checkup - He mos refused to give me another prescription for Fertomid without seeing me first. So yesterday was CD 19, 5dpo. I went there in the afternoon, totally calm and collected, but also a little bit anxious. He did the full monty, from pap smear to breast check etc. Then, when he got to the ultrasound, he saw something funny. His direct words: "Well, this is either a cyst, or a very early pregnancy." There was a black circle/dot/thingy visible - I actually pointed to it and asked whether it is that what he is referring to. He says it is about 2.4cm in diameter and its on my left side.
He then said that I must go for bloods tomorrow (cd 21) to test for progesterone and hcg. He then said that if I did indeed ovulate and if I'm not pregnant, it is a cyst. And then I will be put on birth control for more than a month to see if we can get rid of the cyst. If it is a pregnancy, I would not even be three weeks yet...
No I am a bit concerned. If the black spot is indeed a pregnancy, isn't it too early to show on the ultrasound on CD 19? I have my doubts. I have the strange feeling that it will be a cyst and that I'll have to go on birth control.
I have to see him again on Friday next week, the day before my period is due. If I am not pregnant, he will do an ultrasound to determine if the cyst is still there - if yes, I am be prescribed birth control. If no, then he will give me another prescription for fertomid. Also, if he prescribes fertomid, I will have to go in again on cd 11 of next cycle to determine if there are any follicles.
I am so overwhelmed, freaked out about this. On the one hand I really hope that it is indeed an early pregnancy, on the other hand I have the sneaky suspicion that I might have a cyst.
I have been battling the last few days with nausae and faintness - both also a symptom of a cyst. Even though the cyst is relatively small, it looked huge on the ultrasound, so I don't know...
