Chasteberry / Vitex / Agnus Castus is a herb that is commonly used in fertility. It helps the body rebalance it's hormones, and is very useful for people with a luteal phase defect as it stimulates the body to produce progesterone after ovulation, thereby lengthening your luteal phase (if it's short). It's just generally a good fertility hormone balancing herb. You can buy it at most health shops, including dischem.

I also think it's very good to remember that it's not always the female who might be the reason pregnancy is delayed / not happening.

Regarding opks - this will be my first month using them. I was very tempted to go the cheaper route and buy the clicks ones (I'm very snoep by nature), but then I decided to just stuff it and pay up and make sure I get ones that work, I've been waiting long enough to be pg (over a year), so I've forked out and gotten the CB digis.

Chanti - regarding hpts - I usually start with the checkers cheapies. They're about R12, and I'm fairly sure when I read the package insert it picks up from a really low level of hcg already. In the past I have used clicks brand hpts (and have gotten positive results with them, so those at least do work), but for now i use the checkers cheapies and would then maybe use a CB digi to confirm, but only after seeing a positive result on a cheaper brand.

Ladies, which HPTs do u buy when u start testing early? Its not affordable to buy many clearblue ones

@Carien: Your hubby is so funny! Mine has reached a point where he is pleading for a break. I don't think he understands that there is a very narrow window to catch that eggy.

Ladies I think we can all conclude that the clicks brand opks just suck and we need to move along to better brands.

I haven't tried any others....I'm on CD17. If nothing happens this month, will most probably try another brand next month. Do you know which is a better brand?

@TheMrs - Thanks, I will let you know if I manage to find FertileCM at my dischem.
I also did not have much luck before with the clicks opk's. The CB digital ones are the best. You also get the CB Easy OPK's that works on a similar basis than the clicks ones. They are a bit easier to read, but I prefer the Digital ones. But they are so damn expensive.

Mrs Smith – I read something yesterday about the sperm needing to mature (after Bding) before being able to fertilize the mature egg.. Something about Bding 2 days before O. But I can’t seem to find anything to back that up now. Definitely BD CD11 (Just in case).
You got the CB opk’s hey? I hope you have better luck than us cheapie clicks chicks. Lol! I saw them at clicks, 7 or 8 with a hpt in the pack. I can’t afford that… BUT we WILL afford a baby. LMAO!

CarienM – Hope AF stays away! I had a good chuckle about hardware malfunction.. I told dh we may need a zimmer frame for his “hardware” after this O (TMI).

AFM - I am so impatient, I couldn’t wait until 2pm to do my opk, so I did it about an hour ago. I also got a faint line, so same experience as Inca, Chanti & Nix with the clicks brand… negative. I am now doubting last cycles positive. I fear it wasn’t as dark as the control line. BUT todays was definitely negative. I am going to try wait till Sunday (CD9) to use another opk. I am not getting my hopes up this cycle as I doubt my hormones are back to normal yet. Started vitex last night though, so fingers crossed (Thanks Babydreaming88)!
