@Chanti - The costs of the IUI is much cheaper than IVF. Our FS charges R3300 for the IUI procedure, which includes the scans, washing sperm and inserting. It excludes blood tests prior to IUI, medication and trigger shots. And because my FS is in PE, I'll have to do my Day 3 scans here in Upington, which is additional to the R3300. IVF is in excess of R30k, and excludes meds and bloods. IVF has higher success rate, but it is much more expensive.
Hubby not very keen on IVF. Not only because of the costs, but he feels it is not natural. Our FS actually suggested IVF, to be honest. Because of hubby's morphology problem. The problem we have is that our closest FS is in PE, CT or PTA, which means additional costs of travel and accommodation (and sometimes leave). So it is a difficult decision. Hubby is happy to try IUI, as it gives us about a 40% chance of conceiving (which is good, if you take his morphology and my anovulation into account).
