Spotting isn't good before af. It can possibly indicate low progesterone which may reslut in early mc or it may indicate fibroids or endometriosis. It can also be caused by the pill which none of you are on.

Odd how many gynaes say it is normal yet the fertility clinic said not.

I think we have to define normal as yes it is probably normal to have a few cycles where you spot if your cycle isn't ideal that month but if you spot for a few days before af every cycle you need to chat to your gynae as he/she should then rule out causes.

Simone, spotting can be normal, apparently. Yip you can get the cream over the counter from a health shop. A bit pricey. I paid R200 for it.

Strikke I am so sorry...this has been such a long frustrating road:-( very true what Ika posts!

Julz so spotting is not normal? I always spot at least 3-4 days before af arrives.

Hayley have u tested yet??

Klk did u get the cream OTC?

I`m so tired today. Dh and I go to bed around 12-1am every night and then this morning addison was awake at just before 6am because she went to bed at 4:45pm yesterday afternoon!!! Luckily dh let me sleep in a bit, but I'm still tired!

Strikkie, from my research and numerous emails to my gynae, spotting can be normal but it can also mean low progesterone and as we all know Progesterone is needed for a healthy pregnancy. That is why I am starting with the Natural Progesterone Cream this month. I will see if it helps with the spotting.

I have done research on it for other ladies and it seems that spotting half way through and after af is quite normal, but not just before af and when I mentioned that I was spotting before af to my fs he put me on progesterone support and next cycle I got my bfp.

If you must contact him with new cycle then please do even if it is end of year. Just email him. x
