Recommendations for car seat 10kg+

With us, Missy is now only 7,2kg and they say she must still be in the rear facing one until 10kgs! Who knows when that will be - some months she only picks up 200g!

Baba Tu arrives in January - so ideally I would like to get her into a normal car seat then so that we can use this one for baba - its the one that clicks in the Chelino pram.

Will it be ok to put Missy in a front facing seat at 8kg - I would like to do it in December - a month before baba arrives - and she'll be 15 months. Her head and neck is very strong.

The salesmen keep telling me this car seat will last until she is 25kgs - yeh right - who knows how old she'll be then and I aint seen no 10 year old still in a car seat! A booster seat maybe!

So I am actually looking for a small type of one - anyway - will have to get a second one when Baba is bigger.

I need to start looking for our next car sear as James has outgrown the Peg Perego one (I forget the name - it's the one with the base that came with the pram.)

Any recommendations that won't break the bank? What is a must have / good to have / waste of money?
