Recommendations for car seat 10kg+

I have a HUGE problem. Shane is almost 5 months and already weighs just over 9kgs, yes ladies 9KG's. So, he can barely fit into his baby car seat, rear facing and although we have already bought a forward facing one how can I put him in it when he's not even 6 months old yet? So what am i supposed to do? everything to do with babies seems to be based on weight, but what if like me, one has a big baby, those guidelines dont apply then

Our budget is also about R1000.

We met with the guy from Safeway at last years Baby Expo, and he told us about their new range which is now in most of the shops. A few friends have Safeway, and I think they are pretty good value for money.

I am thinking of maybe going to November's expo at the Dome, but am not sure if I can manage the crowds again and queues!

Wow great topic! i also need to buy amara a bigger car seat but i def cant spend anything above R1000, R3500 is way too much for me, any cheaper selections?

We bought the Maxi Cosi Tobi and my little girl just loves it! It has a lovely high base so that they can look out the windows and now she thinks she is the Queen Bee!

We paid R3,500 at Baby City.

Thanks - these look amazing. The best is that one of the models is rear and forward facing.

My baby also was too big for her baby car seat by about 9 months.
The strap was at the loosest setting and she didn't fit.

I moved her to a big carseat. (chicco)

I don't know if that was the best thing to do, but what else?
