WTF????? I will kill and resuscitate and kill and resuscitate etc etc etc

Frick'n funny! Really have a laugh through my nose right now.

I do love this thread, it is like watching my worst nightmare playing out infront of me.

I have long toyed with the nanny cam idea, but part of me wants to know, but part of me does not want to know .... yes I know I should know.

Fek me - this is a horrible thread, can someone call Stephen King and just give him an idea for a good movie - - I do think Quentin Tarantino could also do a bang up job with this movie.

I am already scared! You guys are totally killing my Friday buzz.

I have a letter from my pdoc to say I am insane, so tread lightly with me, some days I can be a total bitch. I'm lying. Most days I am a total bitch.

I abhor smiley face icons. Just saying.

Hectic! Just so glad she was find alive and unharmed.

That is my worst fear actually since having K. I am always scared someone will kidnap her so therefore the nanny route was never an option. I did not even consider the ones from the agencies.

I was scared not knowing what goes on behind closed doors. Also I thought that if you have to use a webcam to monitor the nanny that means you dont trsut the person in the first place and if you dont trust the person then that person should not be in your house looking after your precious little one. So the webcam idea was also ruled out. Besides that you only gonna catch them after the fact with a webcam and sometimes the damage done to the kids before you caught them out can be fatal (example: catching nanny shaking baby on camera)

I went the creche route and found a creche with an environment I trusted. At creche, there are more teachers aroudn so if something is amiss, someone is bound to report it. There are more parents you can talk to. All in all there are more eyes at creche than their would be at home.

I have not once regretted this decision.

That is so HECTIC!!!!! So she was in a strange place with a complete stranger who was also drunk... what a blessing that the couple who found her were decent and called the parents!!!!!! Thanks for updating us Charnenay...

RM I think you should post a list of your questions you use for interviewing nannies!!!

Shame Shonna that is terrible. I agree with Kristin - I would also have had an assault charge against me if I had to witness that.

Its terrible that one has to spy on the caregiver of your child.

Kimber its more expensive, but probably safer to go to an established agency like supernanny, not these fly by night ones. Its a longer process though. They send CVs, and you can decide who to interview, I would interview and actually see how this person interact with the LO.
Can you leave your LO with a family member in the meanwhile whilst getting a nanny. Not a good idea to hire someone so fast

This is seriously horrific. I've actually just skyped these stories to my husband.

You guys have made up my mind for me. I will NOT be getting a nanny. You just never know...

Shonna I am so sorry that that happened to you. I would've done something to that woman that would've got me into serious serious trouble so well done for handling it so calmly.
