LOL RM - I wish we didn't have to think such things.

They are still trying to piece together exactly where that child was all day yesterday - here is what we have so far:

Nanny is not from "up country" as they believed, she actually lives in Guguletu.
Her family says she returned home yesterday at approximately 10AM and started her drinking spree (there was NO CHILD with her!!)
Another Guguletu resident says she saw the child in a house in Gugulethu with a completely different woman (not the nanny!)
The couple who found her has given a description of the woman they found her with and it matches the description of the random woman she was seen with in Gugulethu (NOT the nanny)!
Nanny has not returned home yet, her family last saw her leave the house with a male friend in a drunken state around 6:30 yesterday evening.

REALLY scary stuff!

this is my story bout by nanny/maid

I run my own business with my hubby, so im a full time mommy to blake.. Im so worried to send him to a creche because i live in such a small town and i dont even trust the doctors here... the last time i went for a check up the quack said im not too sure...

I did have a maid with me even before blake was born, So when he was about 5 months i started leaving him with her from 7:30 untill 12 or 1... So she would give him his breakfast and lunch...

So one day i was just courious... Before i went to shower and get ready i put the webcam on...

So she had to give him breakfast that i had already made.

anyway...

After about 5 min of feeding him... she spat in his food a number of times and then she would push his head back into his high chair. and she would put the whole spoon inside her mouth and spit on the spoon...

needless to say she had the choice to resign or to get a lawyer...
She was gone the next day after watching the recording..

so needless to say, i do not trust anybody with my baba except my family...

Im absolutely loving watching him day in and out, seeing his development, teaching him new things every day....
But i know one day he his going to have to go to creche for more stimulation and development!

I just read this again, and it is still horrific. Trying not to feel sick (I am presently interviewing for a stand in for my nanny who is on annual leave in March - and it is already stressful enough.

However I will be adding the question to my interviewing schedule: So, would you, have you, or do you intend to ever abscond with my child to a train station while under the influence of copious amounts of alcohol? Of course I will not hold the answer against you, please answer truthfully.

I have a letter from my pdoc to say I am insane, so tread lightly with me, some days I can be a total bitch. I'm lying. Most days I am a total bitch.

I abhor smiley face icons. Just saying.

Oh my word... It is reading things like these that makes me extra grateful I am with my kids all day, and I can't be, my husband is... Wow glad all ended well, and that the child was unharmed physically. Shame, I can not imagine the trauma they went through!

OMG! how terrible. I agree with RM do all the checks and take off time from work, spend some time with this person to check her out

Nicole - the police are still looking for her, but as things go, I suspect nothing really serious will happen to her.
