It's a really good thing that your LO loves he's water so much!

I do however send fruit juice with to my son's school and he gets one bottle of Rooibos tea per day.

But I can't see why it should be a problem if your LO only drinks water - it's very healthy!

My gorgeous son born on the 23rd of June 2009 @ 40 weeks, induction, natural delivery. Weighed 3,28kg at birth.

Jojo, I haven't got kids yet, so I can't comment, but I want to congratulate you that you are chosing the healthy option for your child.

I think this is each individuals' own choice and the others should respect this. If your child is happy with the water, why change.

This is your parenting style, and you should do as you feel good.

My Jade is a bit of a juice head (dad's fault as he just gives her whatever! sigh...) anyways, I would say just leave him till he notices he is not getting what the other kids are getting?

Hi JoJo :)
I think its great that your little loves his water so much! Its one thing that most mom's struggle with and water is so important and good for them!
Although, I also think that juice is very good for kids too... :) Hehe, it contains the goodness of fruit if it's 100% juice that is, and that is also so necessary and good for our kids. If I might make a suggestion, seen as he is already more than a year old, why don't you just add a little bit of juice to his water? Like 3/4 water and 1/4 juice? That way he gets the goodness of both worlds. :)
But ultimately the decision is yours and there is no right or wrong here I think. You do what you feel best and right for your child.

Good Morning Mommies!

What are your opinions on giving your young children juice?

My LB is almost 14 months now and happily drinks his water - in fact he loves water! He still has formula and occassionally drinks plain rooibos tea!

He has been at creche since he was 5.5 months old and has recently moved to the bigger class where all the kiddies get juice at snack time! I still send his water and ask the teacher to give him his water instead of juice.

She has told me he drinks his water quite happily and does not even bat an eye with the other kiddies drinking juice!

Do you mom's think I am being too finicky? One of the mom's at the school commented on my choice saying that I need to 'loosen up'

As a child I was probabally drinking Sparletta at age 1 :) LOL
