Hmmm I guess another reason why I'm glad I dont have to put James in school yet:) My poor son, he only gets water and will for as long as I have any say in the matter:)

I think you are good to stick to your guns 02jojo, and I second jems sentiments. I will never stock mixit drinks in our house ever... Even when I was in primary school my parents would send a juice bottle of half water half apple juice with our lunch.

aanmaakkoeldrank is the type of juice they want to give to my son!
When he does ask for juice I will bring my own juice for him!

Gloeiwurmpie, aanmaakkoeldrank is the cheapest..that's why the creches use it! I don't even drink that kind of drinks, will never give it to my kid.

Renier told me the other day that the porridge at the creche is loaded with sugar (He drops her off in the mornings) Going to have to put a stop to that as well!

I also plan on giving Emily water only for as long as possible. I would continue with the water until he asks for juice to school. And even then, perhaps compromise and give juice on a Friday

O, and P.S - I would probably have emptied some juice onto the other moms head

We take our own little snacks etc. so don't have to worry about then giving Jade crap but they do spoil the kids with ice lollies etc but not too much.

I am also looking at playschools/creches at them moment, and find it shocking that they give small toddlers "aanmaak koeldrank".
Surely people in child education should know this is not a good idea?
