the pik n pay hypers with pharamcies also do vacs but i am not sure on the cost but i think its about the same cost as at clicks pharm

I managed to change from private to gvt vacc at my son's 3mth scedule. went to petervale clinic (just off witkoppen - in paulshof)....

VACS WERE FREE!!!

I walked past the sign at Broadacres and wondered about the nurse there - saw the baby clinic signs. Jeesh... that is seriously daylight robbery :-S

Just saw now you said "here in Broadacres". Do you stay that side?
If so, you can also try the pharmacy at Fourways crossing.

Not sure what they charge for baby vacs - but always went there for "family planning" when we stayed close by, and got govt issue tablets, with R35 clinic fee (about 3 years ago).

Edit: Actually - just checked the store listing online - seems that it might have changed to a clicks .
But seems they still have a clinic... Just ask for price first

Thanks Jeanine! I've heard of them but the friendly nurse at the private clinic who told me about them, said that they are in Weltevreden road, I drove up and down and up again, got very frustrated and eventually ended up at the Northcliff link pharmacy...

Can you believe that there is a nurse here in Broadacres, who charges R460 consultation fee. I went to her for Claudia's first vacs, and after getting them done, she goes: thats R460 please! I nearly fell on my back. Don't go to the clinic next to the Barnyard at Broadacres shopping mall!!!!!!!

It doesn't say anywhere in the waiting room what she charges. It was only on a little card next to the phone on her desk that it said all the fees. I only saw this AFTER having the vacs done.

And then she proceeds to tell me that I can bring my LO to her for her 6 month check up as she does the same as a pead anyway. Hell no!!! My pead charges much less than her!!!!!!

Our daughter will be getting het 6 weeks vaccination at a private run clinic that is government subsidised. Why spent all that money and in the end the injections are the same? We are lucky in that it is run by the midwifes that gave us our ante natal classes.
