Since I can remember we have always had our Easter eggs only from Easter Sunday onwards. It's so tempting to eat them before the Sunday, but it is really special to save them for the real day.

I am a Catholic, so before Easter Sunday we always have our 40 days of lent, during which time we don't eat any chocolate. (Well, we don't eat chocolate. You can also give other goodies up... each family has their own way of doing lent.)
Chocolate never tastes so good as that first Easter egg after lent!

Hi I'm Angie that Julz was talking about

And where we stay most people started making their pickled fish on the Wednesday before Good Friday....hence the wonderful smell of pickled fish all around.

I made pickled fish for the first time this year so it was quite a big deal and DH was totally proud of me because his mom passed away 2 years ago and my mother moved to the eastern cape last year...so I HAD to do it and it's actually quite easy.

We hand out the eggs/bunnies to the kids in the family on Sunday (after church and sunday lunch) but I remember when we were younger my parents made us hunt for ours on the Monday..so now to me it's kind of a thing to eat them on Monday....So atleast this morning I was still in a chocolate drug induced state when I had to come to work which made the day go by faster

Charnenay, she is gorgeous :) And yum to the easter egg.

We still have one small bunny and a round egg, so Joshua and I will have that later today :)

I hope that you all had a good Easter.
My Joshua is too young to understand the concept of Easter, so we (Dh & I) decided that we'll just have one or two chocolate eggs and share with him.... Considering that we've been having Easter eggs since January (seriously, I loooooove chocolate) :)

So on Thursday I decide to stop and get the most yum hot cross buns from our Woolies, and Dh and Joshua tags along. Now my child has never been a lover of sweets and even less of chocolate... But low and behold as we make our way through the isles in Woolies, Joshua holding a medium sized chocolate Egg that Dh gave to him ;) so that they could eat it on the way home.... I look at my child and realise that he is covered in chocolate   :silly:   :woohoo:  Needless to say that he unwrapped the egg, and started eating it without us noticing.... HOw did we notice???? I was cracking myself and Dh was so embarrased :silly:  But I so enjoyed seeing Joshua having such fun and all the people in the shop thought that he was too cute.... PIty I forgot to take a pic
